Nestled in the heart of Gulshan 2, Red Chambers offers a consistently pleasant dining experience that keeps me coming back. The location is ideal—right in the buzzing commercial zone—making it an easy pick for family dinners or meetups.
The service is standard and efficient, with nothing to complain about. The staff are attentive enough, though not overly engaging, which works fine if you’re just looking to enjoy your meal in peace.
Now let’s talk food—Red Chambers is dim sum heaven. Every time we visit, we end up ordering 6-7 different dim sums along with a portion of their signature fried rice. The prawn hargao is a must-have—fresh, perfectly steamed, and bursting with flavor. The cuttlefish dim sum and other shrimp-based variants also deserve a solid mention for their texture and taste.
We visited during Ramadan, and my 8-year-old son tried their Ramadan platter. According to him, the chicken and beef items were “out of this world”—high praise coming from a young foodie!
The ambiance is what you’d expect from a premium restaurant in Dhaka: clean, modern, and cozy. Nothing over the top, but definitely appealing.
At around 2.5k BDT per person, the pricing feels justified for the quality and variety offered.
Highlights: • Prime location in Gulshan 2 • Excellent variety of dim sums • Prawn hargao and cuttlefish dim sum are top picks • Kid-friendly with impressive Ramadan platters • Elegant yet casual ambiance • Reasonable pricing for quality food
Overall, Red Chambers remains one of our favorite spots in the city for a dim sum fix...
Read moreWould've given a higher rating if not for this much high priced menu, as I felt there are similar restaurants in Gulshan, who serves authentic Chinese but is also pretty good and have lesser price. The taste is good but still can't give 5 star for that, though that is kinda on us tbh because of choosing untypical menu items :v We chose Sichuan Fried rice with peking duck and fish with 3 flavours. For fried rice, the amount was plenty for 3 people and the taste was pretty good. The fish tasted really good but there were different kinds of fish in that dish. The small fishes which were in pieces that I don't quite know the name, were really really good. But there were another whole fish with fish bone included, that seemed a bit raw for me. I can't stand the smell of raw fish, so that one piece felt ew 🤢 but other than that the curry, the flavor also tasted really good. Peking duck seemed really bland as per me. The amount was also very less for the price. They serve it with pancake (or this is what they call it) but this is not pancake as it seemed, and also tasted very bland. Definitely not worth it for the price. But we got to taste Siu Mai and one beef item (maybe beef with black pepper or boiled beef) from our friend. This item seemed good than the item we ordered. Sui Mai was really tasty and beef was also very praiseworthy. We went there 11 people together, even considering that, they took very long to serve the dishes, actually more than one hour which could...
Read moreExcellent food, good service, nice interior We were a big group. So, could sample out a lot of food
Wonton in chilli oil - excellent and must have. Its a steamed wonton with prawn in an awesome chilli oil. 8 pcs in one order. The chilli oil is so good.
Sui mai- good. None of the food tastes bad actually. This was an addictive one. It's of prawn. 6 pcs in one order.
Sichuan fried rice - says serves 3, but if you aren't a heavy eater, 4-5 people can share it. Loaded with shrimp, chicken, egg, veggies.
Boiled beef in chilli oil - hands down the best dish we ordered. Spicy, well cooked and very flavorful. You can have the broth on its own even if the beef is finished. It's so good. Can be easily shared by 3.
Seafood hotplate - very classic Seafood dish with right amount of spice and loaded with seafood - prawn, crab, squid, fish, etc. A little sweet and a little hot.
Cuttlefish with black pepper sauce - good. I personally didn't like Cuttlefish much for it's rubbery texture. But, overall it was a good dish
Braised goose with Chinese herb - it is a little sweet and has a cinnamon flavor. The duck fat was something i didn't like. This dish is not suited to Bangladeshi taste palette. It wasn't bad but it's not great for our taste buds.
Everyone praised the rice with chicken stock as well
All the dishes were shareable, especially between 4 people easily. Quantity was very good. Sure, it's very expensive. But food looks and...
