CAOS — Restaurant in Antwerp

Amazing place, we had been searching for good Mexican in Belgium a while this ended up being great!

Great selection of Margaritas we went for Tommy’s margaritas which are the ones we love we asked them to make them spicy with tajin on the rim: the BEST. Again very hard to find good margaritas with the right glasses, details and flavors but they’ve nailed it.

And then food wise it was delicious. Modern Mexican with amazing flavours. Everything we were recommended and ordered: padron peppers, elotes, tostadas with octopus & beef tartare, mackerel, steak bavet and the fish tacos. Our favorite was the mackerel, but enjoyed every dish.

Restaurant vibes were cool too. It’s dark and moody with nice, up tempo ambient music. You can tell all the staff is having a good time. We sat at the end of the bar which felt like we were really “in it” being able to observe the bartender at work as well as see into the mostly female led kitchen which was very impressive.

Would absolutely go back and recommend to anyone visiting Antwerp or anywhere in Belgium searching for Mexican...

Never experienced before such a bad, terrible , poor service. Gastronomy at is worst. Never understand why the people who work at a trendy place have to have such an arrogant attitude. We’ve booked a table to celebrate my b-day. When we arrived we had to wait for a table at the bar, but when the table was available they decided that we had to stay at the bar to give the table to some other people. I told them I didn’t agree with this and the answer was “then this is not the right place for you” I really never had such an arrogant comment from a waiter ever before and I will never, ever recommend this restaurant to anyone.

A great spot if you're looking for a fresh take on Mexican food and cocktails. It's not your typical taco-and-burrito place—everything feels more refined and creative. Our favorites: the mussles and the shortrib taco's.

A couple of downsides: there’s no coat rack, so we had to keep our jackets at the table. The acoustics were quite loud, making it hard to have a conversation, and it was chillier inside than we would have liked—though to be fair, it was freezing outside. The service also felt a bit distant, not much interaction or warmth from the staff, which was a shame given the otherwise...
