Castellino Antwerp — Restaurant in Antwerp

I get sad seeing the reviews of other people of this place... I've been here regularly and have never experienced bad customer service. I have to adress a few things:

Yes, the setting of the terrace is pretty crowded, but isn't it cosy to sit close to people? It all comes up to personal preferences, you either don't mind the crowded place or you either prefer more personal space. But if so, you can always choose another brasserie to enjoy a drink or something. You can see the tables are set close to eachother before you sit down to have a drink so why would you complain afterwards haha.

The many times I've been here I've never had experienced bad customer service! The waiters have always been friendly: coming right up to you 5 mins. after you sat down to take your order. Drinks come up right away (depends if its crowded or not) and food takes about 25 mins.

The reason for 4 stars is because it is kind of pricy here + the last time I ate here, I did experience having me and my friend's steak being cooked through (well done) but we actually asked for it to be medium/rare. We just ate it because we were so hungry and the meat was eatable even tho it wasn't cooked to our preferences.

Not a big deal for me, but I do understand people could get disappointed by this. Especially when you're hungry and expect it to be as you asked for 😄 So the table next to us had the exact same situation happening to them, so the lady sent it back to the kitchen for another one.

I do understand this place is a brasserie and not a specialized steakhouse so that's why we didn't send the meat back, it would be a waste of food too. I do hope this was a one time occurrence and the brasserie itself does understand how to avoid such situations next time.

Other than that it's a cosy place at a busy...

Good desserts, the main dishes menu is not so long..mainly ok .. menu could be improved.. I recommend pasta bolognese ..a lot of meat, and they bring a lot of extra parmigiano If you're 4 people and you want to eat, you won't have space for that, they only let you sit at a small table.."4 people, 1 table" they say..and that...

wat een show seg.... 't was zeker geen tijd om te eten alle tafels vol met dranken en ook lege stoelen en de tafel vol met de lege glazen en tassen, ik wou plaatsen maar blijkbaar moest je staan aanschuiven in de rij waar enkel 2 dames in stonden waarvan 1 in een rolstoel met het been in de lucht.... deze wou de kelner (knoeier) ergens tussen laten wrikken met de rolstoel wanneer er een plaats was recht op recht zonder een hindernis parcour te moeten afleggen.....ikzelf zag een gezellig plaatske om enkele sfeer foto's te nemen blijkbaar had er een andere onbeschofte kelner een probleem mee want anders kon ik de mensen fotograferen..... hersens om na te denken heeft hij blijkbaar niet want als je op de straat bent kan je ook foto's nemen ;-) soit ik ben er vertrokken want zulk laag niveau laat ik geen CENT verdienen ! Of was het een probleem dat hij in 't zwart aan het werken was ??? Wenst U een grote show en arrogantie dan moet je hier zijn ! -- Man man man knoei verder zou ik zeggen met je...
