I used to come here a lot, because the food tends to be very good, it's a cozy restaurant, and the staff is usually very nice, but after last time it's not very likely I'll be going back.
We came in around 20.30, ordered our wine and pizzas as per usual, were given a basket of bread with herb butter (delicious as usual, but no olives this time for some reason, and way less bread).
After about half an hour, the staff comes out telling us they're out of pizza dough and it'll take at least half an hour for new dough to be ready. We figure ok, that happens (does it, though?), we'll wait, but after some confusion they tell us we can't have pizza and they strongly urge us to pick something else from the menu.
We reluctantly go for chicken and entrecote, with a salad and fries as a side dish. Another 45 mins later, the dishes come out, but instead of entrecote it's tagliata, and instead of a salad there's 2 bowls of fries. The fries are easily swapped for a salad, but when I mention I didn't actually order tagliata, I'm told that "it's the same meat" (I mean, so is beef stew, it's all beef, but that's not what I ordered). I was pretty hungry at this point, so I decided to just eat it. It was relatively good, but it had also mostly gone cold.
In the end, they comped us for the wine, but they did charge us for the two more expensive dishes we didn't really want instead of the cheaper pizza we had ordered, they charged us for the more expensive tagliata instead of the entrecote, and we weren't even given the customary limoncello with our bill.
While we were eating, there was also a table of four that had come in after us that were all eating pizza.
I would have given them the benefit of the doubt and gone back to see if it was better next time, but my boyfriend never wants to go back there because of how they handled it, and I can't really blame him. I understand it was a stressful situation for the staff, but in the end they were somewhat rude to us over...
Read moreHopefully you see the hundreds of 1 star reviews before you go to the restaurant. Rude staff and terrible service. We left right after we tried to order our food because we were told that the cost of washing the utensils we were using was higher than the revenue they were generating from the food we were ordering…so we decided not to be bullied into ordering more food that was definitely going to go to waste and left. BUT WOW! I’m flabbergasted. If this happens to you all I would say is don’t let it spoil your mood as it wasn’t you but the staff in general (and apparently the owner if you read earlier reviews). So move on, leave a review so others don’t go through shit and have a great meal at one of the dozens of other...
Read moreI’ve visited the place a few months ago with two friends. One of us has ordered two meals and second one has asked if they had an ice cream in a menu because it was important to her when a waiter told he can not serve us because we ordered too little. Attentive reader has noticed that by the time I even didn’t have a chance to order. He was telling us it’s his boss’s desire and he couldn’t do a thing about it. I didn’t want to look for another Italian place nearby so I’ve ordered what I wanted and asked what else should we order just to stay there and he cooled down. The food was okay but I would never go there again because we didn’t match on values with the boss 🤷♀️ I...
