Wow I’m not sure how this place got such high reviews. My friend and I stopped by at around 1pm only one other table there. Figured we grab a quick late lunch. First the waiter the entire time looked confused. He did mention he was new but wow he barely checked in on us and the food took forever to arrive. Every rated bland and not that fresh. Also the croquettes were ok but 4.75€ for one croquette really? In Spain they’re like 1.75€ and wayyy better quality these ones were dense and not that flavorful. The worst dish of all was the Paella which is included in the photo. I’ve never seen Paella like this in my life. It was a big mushy greasy pile of mess! Looks nothing like Paella. It was just a big pile of under seasoned rice with some mystery meat inside of it and don’t know why but super oily and greasy the bottom of the pan had an inch of oil on the bottom and the rice was mushy and over cooked it almost taste like porridge. Lastly the waiter forgot one of our items the potatos bravas and accused me of not actually ordering it even though my friend heard me as well ordering it. He was just super confused and the entire time was just talking to this mystery guy in the back and never checked in on us once. For how slow the restaurant is the foods still took forever and portion sizes were horrible expect for the mushy pile of rice that they called paella. Yikes! I rarely leave bad review but I would not recommend coming here at all!

My friend and I went out for a girls’ night to catch up, and we wanted to try the menu for two people. When we saw it, we both really wanted to go for it. The only challenge was that my friend eats meat, while I can be a bit difficult when it comes to food and prefer the vegetarian version. We mentioned this to a very kind waiter, and he immediately offered to bring the chef to us. Demitri, the chef from Kreta, came over personally and was absolutely amazing. He took so much time to explain every single dish in detail. Not only did he prepare the meat versions for my friend, but he also adapted every single point of the menu into a vegetarian version just for me. It honestly made our girls’ night so special to feel that welcome and cared for, like being at home. The effort, kindness, and attention he put into making sure both of us had the best possible experience was something truly memorable. The staff as a whole were so sweet and warm, and the atmosphere was perfect: calm enough to talk and enjoy every course together.

Really good food! We were happy with all the dishes we ordered. However, it would be quite pricey without any sort of discounts. I had high expectations from the interior of Tge restaurant, however, quite disappointed. The interior design doesn't really compensate the high quality food they serve. You can tell that the furnitures the use are quite cheap. And the music selection is also not really up to standard for such a restaurant. If they could improve on theses things, it will be much better for the whole dining experience.

We hadden 4 menu’s en 1 a la carte.

Last Saturday, Oct 5, I was alone in Antwerp and had little time for restaurant after KMSKA visit and before an evening at the theatre. I decided to eat some tapas quickly. Gustu -which I did not know- seemed like a nice place. I chose Pimientos de padron (turned out to be a modest portion) and Calamares a la romana (five calamares, with a very tasty dressing). I asked for a sparkling water with it, as no alcohol yet with the car to drive. By the way, the wines by the glass were quite pricey (€11). As the small tapas did not threaten to satisfy my hunger, I asked for some bread. That came rather late, when the tapas were about consumed. -- The bill did surprise me: €36 for two simple tapas with a glass of water.... On checking, that glass of water turned out to cost €7.50. The piece of bread was also payable (€3.80). When I asked the boss (I think) about this, he laconically replied ‘Yes, you have to pay for the bread here’. The waitress had not told me that when I asked for a bit of bread. -- Conclusion: I ate reasonably well (Pimientos acceptable, Calamares tasty), but for two tapas, that price is extravagant. -- After next visit to KMSKA, I'll find myself...
