La Grappa — Restaurant in Antwerp

Small and cozy place, with a feel of south Italy, nice wall paintings and displays. Waiter was very enthusiastic. Tables a bit too close to each other, I felt a bit claustrophobic. Toilet didn't have hand paper towels, just a common cloth hand towel for all the guests - a bit unhygienic. Pizza was mediocre, somewhat bland, generous toppings. I was surprised to see Hawaiian on the menu. Chilli oil unpalatable. They have Italian beer and amaro. Tiramisu was served with orange slices and mint leaves - which was odd. The level of service is a bit ad random unfortunately, despite the woman of the house being very friendly and polite. Although I enjoyed the food, there are a lot of points which just could be a lot better. Not getting a menu straight away when you enter; some people get a bread basket, others not; 25 minutes waiting for a tiramisu; having ansjovis as additional pizza topping will cost you 3.5 Euro (?!). We kregen al na 7 minuten ons eten, wat weinig goeds voorspelde. Pizza zeer plat 0,0 procent krokant. Puur deeg, weinig smaak, maagvulling. Pizza Siciliana. De pikante salami zeer beperkt, vooral artisjok, ui en paprika. Pizza is net Goed voor als je dronken bent. Pasta scampi van men vrouw was ok. Voldoende scampi's maar daarvoor ga je niet terug. Smaak simpel. Dat maak je thuis op 1, 2 ,3 met een saus uit het warenhuis. Zaak was vroeger onder de leiding van zijn "Felice lookalike" top maar dit is absoluut voorbije glorie. NIet voor herhaling vatbaar. Dan kan je beter een uithaal Pizza bij de Turk bestellen. Wat het eigenlijk ook was maar dan duurder. Huiswijn van lage kwaliteit. Geen 5 euro waard.
