The Mochito cocktails are amazing. The food was tasty (meat), my choice of fish was not so good though, but I can assume its just not as per my taste (turbot) and has nothing to do with how it was cooked. I had a birthday celebration and made a note about it in the comments, when booking online. A friend advised that Las Manas do a small sth special for B-Day ppl, thats why we went there for my birthday celebration in the first place. In the end noone ever did anything or said anything for the birthday, no small cake with a candle, nothing. At the same time a lady at a table next to mine got a cake with a small firework in it and they played a Happy B-day song for her and ppl clapped and so on. So it was pretty sad sb next to you is getting it and you are not. Its also not sth you can raise to a waiter: "where is my cake, its my birthday celebration!!"? Nobody does that. So no congrats for me, a pity, its a small thing (such a cake costs 2 Euros to make), but so powerful from the point of view of experience of service in a restaurant, and an easy win of hearts of the visitors... Wont go there for my...
Read moreAuthentic South-American restaurant! It starts already with the staff and service, which is typically from SA. They all speak Spanish, are very friendly and create a family feeling. Additionally the setting, layout, ambiance and atmosphere all makes you feel as if you are in SA. The food is amazingly good as well, beautifully served (SA style) and amazingly tasteful. We went for the large combo platter (highly recommended) and our food was served on a hot plate, this caused part of our meat to overcook. When raising this at the staff we got a replacement immediately without any discussion or comment, even with a small excuse. Obviously they go above and beyond to offer great service and food. Highly recommended for great evening, making you feel you are having a large (SA) family dinner, tasting delicious food....
Read moreThis is our second visit to Las Mañas. I'll first start with the positives. Excellent food, very tasteful and full of flavour, the Jurassic prawns are a must! The restaurant itself had live Latin music and it was very good. However, Las Mañas let's itself down with poor service. When we arrived at the restaurant, even though we had a booking, the staff were extremely slow to get us seated. This was the same on our first visit. Not to mention the wait for table service can be very slow. It's a real shame because this restaurant should be excellent and it could be. Just the staff need some training or more direction to drastically improve the service. Would I visit again, despite the long waits? Probably but only because the food is...
