Have been here twice already and loved it both times! Would recommend the spicy boiled fish (you can adjust the spice level, as we did) and the black pepper beef. The texture and flavor are unbeatable! Free salted peanuts too. Note that they are cash/Payconiq only. First time we came here, we didn't know this, but they were very patient with us in finding a way to pay, understanding that we were internationals new to the Belgian system. The second time we came, we also received good service - requests for extra bowls/cups were met quickly, despite there being only one waitress managing all the tables at one point. A previous review mentions an incident with a mother and her child breaking a glass. I was a few tables away and would like to provide some insight. The customers sitting right next to the family brought the incident to the manager's attention and complained, since they had broken glass at their feet and were understandably annoyed. The manager came over to clean up the mess, and the mother had stated that the glass was accidentally broken as her son was playing. The manager, while cleaning the floor, told the mother that she shouldn't be letting her son play there and it had caused an issue for his other customers. He was a bit curt, sure, but did not yell. The mother was upset with his response and left without touching the food on the table nor paying. It was an unlucky situation; the mother and son were in a cramped area with the tables close together, causing the glass to shatter close to other customers. Accidents happen, especially with a child around. But the workers were doing their best to manage a restaurant at 100% capacity, and they serve many English-speaking customers (including this family), despite the fact that English may not be their native language. It may come across as impolite or rude, but understand that it is not a part of the Chinese restaurant cultural expectation to be extremely cheerful as a service worker. Their focus is on being efficient and making the food delicious. Keep this in mind if you're trying to have an authentic experience.

You might pass by the place in Antwerp’s “China Town” without noticing because of the small window but it is a place one should try!! The owner is a very friendly Chinese gentleman who will greet you in person. He speaks very good English. Staff is friendly as well. You can see (if you sit upstairs) in the open kitchen how the cook prepares the fresh made noodles. The menu is good and prices are reasonable but only cash is accepted. I had the filled with shrimps wan tan soup for less than 9€. My friend had mixed noodle soup for 12€. Note that the mix was the meat ingredients, not different types of noodles. Toilettes are ok. Not recommended for wheelchair users due to entrance and steps. We came back for new year’s dinner and decided to try a shared menu. It was a great experience, very filling and different. We paid 29€ /person. The hot oil was divided in too. The spicy one was really spicy for even someone like me, so be carful. I would still recommend. Good food in general and it feels like home food to eat in this restaurant. However it's a bit expensive and the customer has to be very precise about what they order... I ordered a "cha siew" soup but it doesn't look like the picture in the menu, the meat looks more like a fried pork whereas it's supposed to be sliced roasted pork, then I ordered fried dumplings which are usually fried shrimp wonton, but they served a dish that was fried pork dumplings like gyoza. So, if you are new to this restaurant, you should ask precisely about the dish you want, in case you don't end up with a surprise that doesn't look like the picture in the menu. Drink are quite expensive (2,20€ for a glass of water and it's not even full). If you ask for supplement like noodles or dumplings, it's 2 or 3€ extra. Another inconvenient is that the restaurant only accepts cash.

Bai Wei Chinese Restaurant in Antwerpen is a true gem! I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for anyone who appreciates delicious Chinese cuisine. From the moment you walk in, the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel welcome. The menu is extensive with a broad range of traditional Chinese dishes, which are cooked to perfection using only the freshest ingredients.

No matter what you order, you won't be disappointed. The Peking duck is one of the restaurant's most popular dishes, but I also recommend the dumplings, crispy roast pork and the stir-fried green beans with minced pork. The flavors are well balanced and the portions are generous.

The service is top-notch, with attentive staff who are happy to provide recommendations and ensure you have an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance is also perfect for a romantic date or a get-together with friends.

Overall, I highly recommend Bai Wei Chinese Restaurant in Antwerpen. With its exceptional food, inviting atmosphere, and attentive service, it truly...
