Rude service with fairly expensive pricing will make that this place won't stay in business long term. Came here for a drink around 16h30. Sat down but were ignored, so I had to sign to the waitress for service. (They took orders and served another table that came in after us while we were being ignored) Rude blonde waitress didn't like i asked for service and asked what we wanted with a rude tone. When ordering only drinks, the waitress asked what else we wanted for food. When we stated we wanted just drinks, she refused and said we needed to order food. It clearly states on their menu that the kitchen is closed between 14h and 17u30 and majority of people around us were just having drinkes but she made us leave as we didn't want food + after sitting there 15 min waiting for service. (They even had loads of empty tables inside, so it's not like they would lose business) Even when i came inside to ask for clarification she just said it's a bank holiday so different rules applied. I have 10+ years of hospitality experience myself, and honestly, it is so sad to see this level of service and being seen as someone annoying rather than a guest. If you are busy or rushed, never let the customer know. I'm just here to have a good time and spend my money. Don't take it out on your customers if you are not happy in your shift. I hope management use this feedback to train their staff on basic hospitality behaviour. Service with a smile will take you further than you think.
Edit: After reading the other reviews, I'm not surprised anymore. I'm sure this place will close down soon. Also, management not providing feedback on reviews clearly shows that no one cares. I'm curious what the next place will be here. Maybe Mexican or Thai would...
Read moreA disgrace! We had an antipasti (22 euro for 2 persons) and a plate of parma ham (15 euro). The antipasti consisted of 2 small slices of salami, 2 very small slices of mortadella, some slices of fat (supposed to be ham), a tiny bit of mozzarella and some grilled vegetables, really a very small plate. The plate of ham was nothing but the leftovers of a real ham, the very end, no real slices. When I mentionned that we were not happy with the meal, they just laughed and said they were just "jobstudents" and could do nothing about it. There was no "boss" present, so they called another responsable. Another young girl showed up and just said that if we didn't like it we just didn't have to come back! Can you believe it? Never, ever, ever, go there! There are so many good italian restaurants in Antwerp, avoid this one at all...
Read moreThe atmosphere is great and the restaurant is well kept with an intimate and refined vibe. The staff are extremely friendly.
The food was underwhelming though. I had ordered lasagne which was reheated (hot on the edges, cold in the middle). For a dish that cost 19€ I expect it to be freshly cooked in an individual oven dish for one person and not a pre-cut slice. The presentation was unattractive, too. Taste ok.
For dessert, I had pannacotta. Very creamy but the taste was so bland almost zero. Not enjoyable and disappointing. Since this was quite an expensive meal, I doubt I'll give it...
