In a nutshell: the food was disapointing but the service was good. Do not expect authentic thai food, it is definitely watered down for european taste. This is something I can sometimes accept if the food is still tasty. Unfortunately my hot beef salad was completely tasteless, I even asked for extra dressing but this didn't help. I couldn't taste the fish sauce and it lacked the punchiness from lime juice, there was also no chili. When I shared the feedback, the waiter kindly accepted my remark. My partner had a duck curry that was ok, but the added grapes and lychees was a strange combination. The fried spring rolls was good. The "homemade lemonades" are actually just Monin store bought syrups with nice toppings. Food is a bit pricey for the quality but I guess you pay for the decor and ambiance. I still give 3 stars for the good service, friendly staff and beautiful decor. They definitely put in a lot of effort in making the place look cozy. For 3 people, we spent €107 for 1 starter, 3 mains, 3...
Read moreI’ve been here twice. The food is decent, nothing exceptional, but generally okay. For someone who isn’t Thai, it might come across as good, but it doesn’t quite reach the authenticity or balance you’d expect from top-tier Thai cuisine. The dishes tend to be heavy on sauce and light on vegetables, making them feel a bit one-dimensional.
During our second visit, we had a disappointing experience with the fish curry: most of the small mussels were undercooked or bad, remaining completely closed and inedible. The staff acknowledged the issue and kindly offered us a dessert as compensation. Unfortunately, the dessert never arrived, and we eventually had to ask for it to be removed from the bill. While the gesture was appreciated, the follow-through left something to be desired.
On a more positive note, the atmosphere is quite nice and cosy, definitely a pleasant setting to...
Read moreGreat experience, best Thai restaurant we have been to in years. We thought we had made a booking, sadly our Flemish not being great, we had not received the conformation email required however, they asked us to wait a few minutes and then gave us a table on the street. It was a warm evening and very pleasant. The atmosphere was vibrant but what made it for us was the waiters big smiles. I am vegetarian and the choice was limited. I had spring rolls (banging) and red curry main meal was fantastic. My wife had crab rolls and Monkfish green curry. Very very good, full of flavours. Extra rice was offered and accepted. It is a 10-minute walk from the centre of the city but well worth the effort. You will not regret visiting this restaurant, well done Tamo and all your staff you deserve...
