The table next to me (early afternoon, only two tables occupied) was having a very general conversation about challenges in the US, I am American, some of them at that table too. Owner's sign states that some conversations are not welcome. He made one mild comment to that table as a caution. It was a bit uncomfortable and unwarranted for the characteristic of the conversation. One of the men went to the counter before leaving and stated that "I didn't mean anything by it...." to explain. Read moreI had been showing Brugge to my wife and just around our hotels corner we found this really cozy tavern.
Since my wife and me we run a small Gastro business in Germany on or own we immediately felt welcome there. The couple owning the place seems very friendly and in the two days we stayed in the city we had a feeling that this is a place for a group of people who consider themselves friends.
So drinking our holiday beer here was a nice experience and when we come back some time on the future (but with friends), this is the first place we will go to!

We honestly weren't expecting much from the food but we were very pleasantly surprised.
