Bad service, very bad food.
Don't be deceived by this restaurant’s popularity, this is easily explained by its moderate pricing in a very busy touristic area, I'm sure all of the customers are first-and-only timers. Beware also that although the staff is largely italian, seemingly another good indication, the only interest here is making money, not making good food or pleasing the customers.
A summary of the disgusts that we were confronted with:
"Ravioli della casa" came straight from a tiny can (this was confirmed by the manager, he commented "If you successfully serve the same ravioli for 30 years, why change your formula"?)
The vegetarian lasagna was partly raw and composed of a tough pasta, a lot of unidentified starchy ingredient and traces of spinach. The manager told me that it had been heated in the microwave.
The pizza base was extremely tough and very hard to cut with sharp knives (microwaved?)
The sauce that came with the "Tortellini" contained a disproportionately small amount of cheese, and tasted like a salty maizena soup.
The menu starter, a salade, was made of inferior ingredients, just lettuce and bad tomatoes and there was no extra vergine oil on the table or in the food.
Amongst other mistakes were:
The inferior beer that was served in Jupiler glasses was definitely from another brand.
I ordered a white beer but received a blond.
There were some plusses as well:
The white housewine was good.
The "Cavatelli rustici con n'duja" pasta was good, but contained bacon instead of the famous Calabrese sausage. When confronted, the manager rushed to the kitchen and produced a sausage and said that it was in the sauce of the pasta. I have never eaten this dish before so I cannot compare, but to me the important ingredient was not detectable.
When I decided not to take a dessert since the tiramisu had ran out, the manager deducted this from my bill.
The waiters were stressed out and didn’t pay attention to our signals, they seemed generally incontent and when we commented on the food they answered “Italiano”. When I switched to Italian they didn’t respond and quickly vanished.
At the checkout the manager showed me a printout of all the transactions over the day and told me that in such a long list there would always be someone who was not happy.
This restaurant doesn't look shabby, it presents itself with pretense; an insult to italian cuisine and to the service of "real" italian restaurants everywhere, insulting to unsuspecting customers and last but not least looking bad on the...
Read moreDELUSO. Disappointed. First of all, we were attracted to this restaurant because of the menu outside that shows prices completely different from the menù inside (half of the price!). So we went inside and, after realizing the high increase of the price, decided to go just for a pizza, as the lasagna was double the price of the one in the menu outside. For drinks, as a glass of water is 1.50 euro and a bottle can get up to 5, we went for a coke and a fanta that is 2 euro each. I thought I am gonna receive a can of coke, but we actually received only a glass (small) of something similar to a coke and a fanta. Let's now talk about the pizza. We had asked for a little variation of a pizza 4 stagioni (we wanted to take off the ham), but that was not possible because the pizza, as explained from the waiter, is already made and has to be only heated up. This explains the bad quality of the pizza which is not freshly made as in any other pizzeria. On top of that, you will receive a small slice of what you may think is a pizza, actually a square slice. This is not obviously the portion of a normal pizza, despite the price, which is a full price for a pizza (you can also spend more than 10 euro for a slice of pizza here!). Obviously, we were not expecting any of this. From the prices that we saw in the menu outside to the pizza quality and quantity, and the drinks. I saw many italian restaurants in Europe and unfortunately, as I am italian, I have to say that I would not come back in this one. I would probably try one of the few others I...

Fantastico!
Cibo geniale grazie per una meravigliosa cena di anniversario.
My wife & I come to Bruges every year, some places are always here and some have, this year disappeared (due to owners retiring etc), but we found one fantastic place to eat, especially if you are tired of wandering around trying to find authentic ‘Flemish’ food only to find expensive faux fare instead.
So this year we decided for our anniversary we would have Italian food, & what a decision! Relaxed, wonderful atmosphere, with a great selection of staff, including the cooks/chèfs who are not above coming out to talk to the customers. The food was uncomplicated & beautifully authentic Italian fare, the wine was great (although ‘corkage’ is a little expensive if you buy from their stock in house) We paid around €80 for 2 x 2 courses, + 4 x wine/2 x Prosecco/1 x Espresso & 2 x Limoncello. If we had eaten at the usual places which serve ‘flemish’ food, we could pay double that sometimes. Can not recommend this place enough for an evening dinner, we will absolutely be back here again next year. (Did I mention...
