Bossa Nova — Restaurant in Brussels

We entered and one of the waiters told us 35€ for the meat menu, something that seemed to be specified in the menu. We said that we don't eat meat and asked if there is any fish option which he confirmed after a couple of minutes. We started eating and the food was barely average in most cases. When we get up to go to do the payment we are asked to pay 90€, instead of 70€ as we expected (we asked if is 35€ per person and then they confirmed but after asking again their pronunciacion changed to 45€), tought initially that the fish was somehow more expensive and this was not mentioned in the menu or by the waiter and we left, but after we started discussing outside my partner tought something is not quite right and burst back inside to get an explanation. After she got in she noticed 3 guys (including one of the waiters) laughing, but they stopped and the waiter went in another place. The one at the counter where we did the payment was 'trying to find' an explanation for the 90 euros without drinks and showing different papers that didn't add up for the extra 20 euro⁰s in cost he ended up giving back the extra money. We got to the conclusion that the one at the counter tried to scam us as they tought about us as easy pray as tourists. Don't recommend this place as the price/quality is...

I have gone to this restaurant a few times in the last 10 years or so, mostly to show friends a little of my home country. There are other Brazilian restaurants in Brussels but this one is established and easier to reach. It offers authentic Brazilian food (not the bbq though). The buffet is normally good but the "rodizio" (bbq) have always lacked quality, either the quality/taste of the meat is poor or not cooked properly (I never felt sick, it is just about not properly doing it and using low quality meat). Last week I visited with 8 friends.This time the overall experience was overly bad. Service was extremely slow and we got meat (either dry, chewy, or overcooked) only 5 or 6 times. The staff is generally friendly (not the cashier who I think is the owner/manager...) but the service itself is super disorganised. The buffet, that usually makes me "accept" the bad bbq, was neither good nor consistent this time. If one charges 30 EUR per person, a little more quality/service is expected. We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday at this restaurant and we were absolutely delighted with the experience! The food was delicious — well-seasoned, fresh, and cooked to perfection. All the meats were spot-on, prepared with great care. The grill master clearly knows what he’s doing and shows a lot of skill and experience.

The drinks came out cold and very quickly, which was a great start. We were served by a very friendly and courteous waiter who gave us great tips about the restaurant and made us feel very welcome.

The desserts were excellent, and the atmosphere was truly charming — very Brazilian, just like back home. One detail we really appreciated: the background music wasn’t limited to just samba — there was a nice variety, which made the ambiance even more enjoyable.
