Had a really awful experience here a couple of weeks ago. Ordered two bagels and mentioned no nuts (as I have a life threatening nut allergy) on both of them. The server did not understand, so I showed them my allergy card which explains in great detail about my allergy and how to prepare my dish and how my allergy affects me in French. She gave me a thumbs up, so I took this as a confirmation that she understood. When the food arrived, I still felt a bit uneasy and my partner opened his bagel to find pine nuts inside. Whilst he is not allergic, he does not eat any nuts products due to the possibility of cross contamination to myself. We decided to ask for a refund as we were not happy that they were both safe to eat. The server didn't really understand this and they started to make two new bagels minus the pine nuts. Whilst I appreciate they offered to make new food for us, at this point my anxiety was through the roof as I thought I had made it very clear with my allergy card that there were to be no nuts in either bagels. I begrudgingly ate the second bagel out of politeness. However I think if you are serving/making food, you should train all your staff in basic allergy awareness as the last thing I would want is for someone to accidentally eat something after they had been told it would be made specifically catered to their allergy requirements. As this could cost...

All,
I've been to the place several times since the opening; the place is cosy, crowd is good and the coffee is at barista's standards.
However, yesterday 1/12/2018, I went to ask if I could have a "quick" use of the restroom. The gentleman kindly replied that it was open to clients only, and that I had to buy something. I kindly replied that it was ridiculous. I now want to buy something, but there is a queue of 5 persons so I ask If I can use the restroom before buying, showing with my face that it is quite urgent. To my great surprise, the gentleman replied calmly that I HAD TO BUY SOMETHING FIRST. Needless to say I went to some other place (the bar up the road gave me access for free).
Dear bar owner: I'm Belgian, leaving in Belgium for 18 years, hanging around in all sorts of bars & restaurants in Brussels, and I want to tell that this is not how we do things over here. This is big time screw-up, you really need to change that attitude. As said: coffee is good, pastries are good, but such type of behavior is destroying your reputation.

Read moreI walk in on a Sunday afternoon, order a latte and a muffin (specifically asked for the latte to be in a to-go paper cup even if i wanted to sit in and offered to pay more for it) the girl at the cash register hesitated, told me itâs not allowed but then let me order it. The girl at the coffee machine refused to make it because how dare i ask for a to-go paper cup when i want to sit in, she said itâs a question of âaestheticsâ as if i was looking for a beautiful coffee rather a good coffee, she still refused to make it, so i asked for a refund because i donât think itâs a big deal if a client asks for a to-go paper cup in a COFFEE SHOP. She ended up making it, a 3rd waitress came and complained about it. By that time i was already over the coffee and felt extremely not welcomed. The latte was bad too, it had too much foam, anyone with a basic barista training should know that a latte only requires a thin layer of foam (not half a cup) i chugged it and left. So no i wonât come back, for the bad service and the bad coffee. Jat you still have a VERY long way to go in terms of...
