We booked a Garden Standard room directly through the hotel’s own website, and everything went smoothly. Our room (3103, Landyut) was very clean and quiet, as it was at the end of a first-floor corridor with windows facing the courtyard. Most of the time, we only heard the cleaner moving about during the day; otherwise, the building was very peaceful. At times, it was almost eerily quiet! The bed was comfortable, and I really liked the pillows as they weren't too puffy, but could be shaped to support the neck as needed. This was great for me as a side-sleeper, since hotel pillows usually feel far too soft and almost suffocating. One thing to be careful about is the shower: at least in our room, the shower floor was the same smooth stone tile as the walls, with no grip at all once wet with soap or shampoo. There were no safety rails either, so if you’re older or travelling with children, do take care not to slip. The room had effective air conditioning and blackout curtains. That said, the curtains could have been a bit wider, as they were cut slightly too narrow and always left a gap somewhere for the light to shine through. The hotel also offers a laundry service. The wardrobe door in the room had a price list with the cost per item. If I remember correctly, a T-shirt was about €4, a skirt €8–10, and so on. There was no extra service fee. Clothes for washing had to be taken in the laundry bag to reception before 9 a.m., in which case they were returned the same day by 4 or 5 p.m. If items were brought between 9 and 12 and still needed the same-day service, an express fee of around €60 was added to the bill. There was also a mini fridge, but the prices were too high for me. €4 for a 500ml bottle of water, €4 for a small Coke, and a whopping €40 for a half bottle of Moët. At the reception, we always received very friendly service, no matter who was on duty. Breakfast was a bit mixed: while the quality was good, the selection was extremely limited. Once we saw how small the hotel is, it made sense, but €22 is really too expensive for what’s offered. The only hot options were scrambled eggs, some kind of wurst sausages, and bacon. Otherwise, the spread included breads with a changing selection of cold cuts, cheeses, and vegetables, as well as yoghurt, muesli, and fruit. The waitress working in the dining room was always friendly, kept the tables tidy, and served coffee. Finally, I have to praise the hotel’s location. Many interesting museums and sights are within a kilometre, and both the main train station and a metro stop are only a couple of hundred metres away. Next to the train station, there’s also a small grocery shop, which was handy for picking up reasonably priced drinks and snacks.

We landed in Brussels this morning after a pretty rough travel day and this hotel was our first stop. We rolled in exhausted and about 4 or 5 hours early. Yet, they had our rooms all ready for us and we didn’t need to wait more than a few minutes. Our kids had a standard room which was really nice and then my wife and I walked into our suite and BAM!!! The room was amazing!!! It was like a large apartment. Beautiful living room. Nice little kitchen (which we probably won’t use). Cozy bedroom. Everything has been perfect so far. And it’s within walking distance of everything which is really nice too. We haven’t hit the free breakfast yet, but if it’s anything like the rooms I’m sure it will be great!!

Gorgeous hotel located a stone’s throw away from the Central Station. I used their Poncelet meeting room for a half day business event. The hotel itself has an old-world charm to it and the meeting room specifically was thoughtfully decorated with smartly clad hounds adorned the walls. At lunch we were a good selection of sandwiches and speculoos cake for desert. Overall, I was super impressed with the food, attention to detail for business meeting and the cleanliness of the hotel premises!

This place was a great find for our trip to Brussels. The location is fantastic - just about a block from Central Station, and a couple of blocks from the Grand Place. There are plenty of places to eat within steps of the hotel - including Maison Dandoy for waffles and many of the famous chocolate shops. The rooms are charming - not your cookie-cutter chain-hotel design. Linens were quality, and each of us had a refrigerator in our room. Every employee we dealt with was friendly and helpful. I forgot my adapter to charge my phone. The gentleman at the desk saved the day by immediately offering me the use of one from the stash the hotel had. (Also, special shout out to Naomi at the front desk for helping us store our group's massive amounts of luggage.) The rooms were clean and quiet. Not much more you can ask for! I will absolutely choose Le Dixseptieme again if I return to Brussels.

I stayed in Courtens, the Classic Superior Suite. We had a group of six staying in four rooms at the hotel. Courtens has a living area with two couches and a dining room table and also has easy access to the roof terrace. Our group was able to comfortably assemble for drinks and chit-chat on a couple of occasions. It was really nice - especially the terrace in the evenings.

Only one word of caution. Courtens may not be for you if you have mobility issues. You will need to carry your luggage up a small flight of stairs to reach the room and then the bedroom and bathroom are on the second floor of the room which is accessed by a beautiful, but tight spiral staircase. I've got knee and back issues, and I managed it, but I am sure some others would not be able to.

To sum up, if you have Le Dixseptieme in your sights, don't be afraid to pull the trigger! Our group...
