Woodpecker Schuman — Restaurant in Brussels

I've been going for over 5 years and it's shocking to what extent the quality has downgraded. The service is pretty regular as there's only one person you can order to and not the warmest of all. I always order the mushroom waffles who are supposed to have leak in the dough bit it was the simplest, most savoreless waffle I ever had even though I warned it to the server but she kept saying the leak was in the dough. Not only the taste was nowhere to be found like in the past but the size was shockingly smaller. The coffee from the cappuccino tasted like burnt. The pochée eggs are always good but they even downcut to the sauce and I only got 2 sad mushrooms. I've been giving chances to the place as I loved it first times when I went there specially in Louise but it's been worse and worse. First, the one in the Grand Place which I stopped going to last year after several disappointing times, but now Schuman as well.. And not a t all worth it the price. I'm disappointed but unfortunately this was it for me. Siempre pedí los waffles de champignones que la masa trae puerros y, aunque se lo comenté a la muchacha, era una waffle simple, sin gusto à nada y mucho más pequeño que de costumbre. El café del capuchino tenía un gusto a quemado horrible. Lo bueno son los huevos pero hasta escatimaron en la salsa que sólo me tocaron dos simples champignones. Desde 2021/22 qué la calidad ha bajado horriblemente y ya le he dado tanto oportunidades en todas sus sucursales que lamentablemente se...

I wish I could be more positive. We were shocked by how bad the quality of the food was compared to the prices. Maybe they were just having an off day, but the veggie brunch bun had no sauce at all and only had dry scrambled eggs and badly cooked mushrooms. The leek waffles with poached eggs were also quite bland. Especially considering that we waited more than half an hour for it, we really expected something more. The orange juice I paid 5.5€ for came in a glass half full with ice. To top it all off, it was extremely cold inside and felt like the heating was not on at all. They also asked us to move because they wanted to merge our table with another one, meaning that we had to sit in front of the door at -3 degrees and almost have to put...

Upd 14.02.2024: Meanwhile, I still haven't gotten better in 4 days, I haven't had such severe food poisoning due to food in about 15 years. Perhaps not only were the waffles at Woodpecker tainted on Saturday, but the eggs were salmonellosis eggs because I have symptoms of salmonellosis. Again, the poisoning started immediately after eating at Woodpecker. Avoid this place if you don't want to be poisoned.

11.02.2024: I poisoned myself yesterday with their specialty waffle. I don't know what they put in it, I just felt that the waffle had a very strange flavor, but for some reason I continued eating it. The result - nausea and vomiting with this very waffle, feeling bad for almost 24 hours. If possible, avoid this place if you don't want to...
