Brasserie Le Royal — Restaurant in Charleroi

We visited Le Royal twice while on a beer and Battlefields tour with Leger. We thought the food here was "AMAZING". The first visit I had Veal Escalope with fries and salad. The veal was tender and tasty. My wife had meatballs in sauce with fries and salad. There was only 2 meatballs but the were large and fillin, the sauce was herby and tomato. The second visit we went with some others from our tour. 3 of us had the spaghetti bolognese, 1 had ham omelette which was huge, 1 had steak. The Spag bol was very tasty and a good portion. The steak was served rare and looked juicy and tender. If I had had another evening I think I would have the steak. The service was "AMAZING" very friendly staff. I really disliked my visit. We went there on a Saturday evening where we found the place looking laid back, accessible and cozy, exactly what we were looking for. However, it appears the place attracts many drunk, elderly and especially loud locals. Simply annoying! My standards are not that high, really, but this is the type of crowd you see drinking beer in a pub next to the train station on a Tuesday morning at 8am, not in a restaurant. The worst part is that the staff encouraged and participated in this disgusting drunk shouting as well. Bad luck for us? Maybe. But bad service? Definitely. We won't be back. De passage , nous avons choisi ce lieu sans avoir concerté des avis ou des recommandations. Il y avait du soleil et nous avons été attiré par le terrasse du Royal. Rien d'exceptionnel au niveau mobilier mais les personnes assises étaient souriantes et celles qui mangeaient également, quand vous êtes déçus par le service ou la nourriture vous ne souriez pas, bien au contraire .

Le sourire de ces personnes , nous à attiré. Nous voulions également profiter du soleil donc nous avons choisi une table ensoleillée mais un peu petite . Pas grave le soleil est là.

Une fois installé, la serveuse souriante vient nous donner la carte , nous lui précisons que nous mangeons sur place avec nos deux enfants . Elle nous conseillé de changer de table pour avoir plus de place ... puis elle nous a dit de ne pas bouger que la table venait à nous , ainsi nous ne perdions pas le soleil . 😎

Vient le moment de choisir, mon époux prend une frisée aux lardons , moi une assiette Mozzarella/tomate , nos enfants désiraient un plat du menu enfant mais ils savaient que les quantités seraient juste. Pas de soucis pour la serveuse , elle fait un clin d'oeil aux enfants et repart avec le sourire.

Les plats adultes étaient superbes, gourmands et de qualité. Puis vient le plat des enfants qui était généreusement servi .

Les plus de cet établissement sont le service, la qualité et la quantité. Par curiosité, je suis rentrée dans l'établissement et waouhh le décor est superbe et donne envie d'y rester ...
