Thai Café Tirou — Restaurant in Charleroi

Love this place!!!! We are staying in the nearby Novotel and it is super convenient to get our food from here. During our 2 weeks stay, we got the BOGO (buy one get one free) lunch offer from them. The price is super cheap for what you get and there are plenty of choices. You'd get a starter and a main course, and x2 of what you choose. Starters including salads or soups (highly recommended the pork/beef salad or the coconut chicken/tomato/wonton soup). Main course including ribs or fish (we LOVE the ribs - make sure they don't forget the plum sauce cause it is AMAZING, we got this dish everyday!, but all other dishes of theirs are really good too). The portions are massive and the quality is really really good. They packed the food in reusable takeaway boxes and charge a deposit fee, and when you return the boxes, you will get your money back. The staff themselves are really nice and helpful as well. Sometimes when it is too busy, they may forget the plum sauce but just remind them. We don't eat rice as we are on a low carb diet, so we asked them not to include rice. They gave us lots of salads and vegetables instead! (Although, they always seem to forget to NOT include rice like we asked for during the 2 weeks of dining there almost everyday). P/S: this review is only for their BOGO lunch offer. I ordered dinner one time and the dish is WAY too expensive for what they're worth (19€ for 5 or 6 pieces of beef rolled in some sort of salad or vegetables, 9€ for a VERY small portion of stir-fry vegetables). Due to that, we always ordered for dinner as well (2x lunch order = 4 portions).

Update: I changed my review to 2 stars due to the following incident. On Wednesday (10/02), I made an order for 2x Lunch BOGO (23907fd8-0192-4deb-b4ca-681eeb671e1f). However, the restaurant had no ribs available (Kaduk Muu). I was not told about that until I went to pick up the food at around 12.15. I was then offered the alternatives, Pla Lad Prik and Khao Man Kai. After paying and returning to the hotel, I realised only the Pla Lad Prik was included, NOT the Khao Man Kai. I immediately returned to the restaurant 30 minutes later and mentioned it to the staff member, a caucasian male, who offered me a refund of 15 euro to be credited back to my card ending in 1004. He mentioned it should take 24-48 hours for the fund to be available on my account. However, a week later, I still haven't received the refund. I contacted them by email and no one responded. I will not be returning.

UPDATE 2: after almost 3 weeks with constant messaging through Facebook and threatened to contact the Head office, I finally got my refund. Despite the good food, the service and the communication was not great at all. The staff, although happy and try to be helpful, constantly forgetting/mistaking the order, even though we dine there twice a day for almost 2 weeks straight. We requested no rice with EVERY ORDER EVERYDAY, yet they put rice in our order EVERYDAY. At least twice they messed up the orders and we just went along with it because we do not want to cause hassles. If you want good food on a budget and don't care about the service or what surprises you might get instead of your actual order, go here for lunch....

We were a group of five vegetarians and felt completely catered for from start to finish. The vegetarian menu was generous, with flavors that really pop—fresh, well‑spiced dishes that delighted every palate. 🌱

Très bien, mais absolument pas comme en Thaïlande ou je vais depuis + de 30ans mais bien dans sont ensembles sauf pas la chaleur,🤣🤣🤣,après je prends un Kaduk Muu délicieux 😋 sauf aucun rince doigts alors que c'est avec des os et difficile de ne pas utiliser les doigts ,ça c'est la (1ère erreur), et la 2eme ,ont nous demande ci nous voulons un Café ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ je dis non merci L'addition SVP !!! c'est clair Non merci L'addition svp ????
