Brasserie Le Petit Paris — Restaurant in Etterbeek

I recently experienced first-hand the amazing friendly staff of Le Petit Paris. I wasn't even a customer, but was walking by carrying a little girl who had fallen and cut herself and was crying, not really knowing where to go. One of the waiters there motioned me to come in, took out a cloth and some water and gently washed the cut, all the while talking calmly and soothingly to the girl. Once the blood was gone, we saw that the cut might be a little bit deep, he motioned to me to wait, went back behind the bar and came out with a first-aid kit, from which he took some disinfectant solution and carefully applied it ever so gently to the cut. He then suggested to me that there was a hospital ER very close by and probably it would be a good idea to go there and get it checked, and gave me directions of how to walk there (which I did).

It really renews your faith in humanity when you meet people like that, who see someone with a problem and go far out of their way to help out, even though they could so easily do nothing. I have occasionally had a drink at Le Petit Paris, and always found the staff friendly and the atmosphere lovely, especially the seats outside - but this was exceptional. I really don't know what we would have done without this man's help....

The worst "tomate crevettes" I can remember after many years living in Belgium. Microwave heated, unseasoned, chewy lamb chops, served with a side of sticky, cold gratin dauphinois. Side salad drowning in cheap, creamy vinaigrette. Totally incompetent service: my cold dish was brought to another table - I was served after all the other people at my table had FINISHED their hot dish!!! I have become tired of writing negative reviews about these places - they are are all too common in the capital of Europe. I felt I had to for this one....

Food, c'est magnifique! Stumbled on this place and decided to have a meal. What a shock just how good everything was. The calamari was the most tender I've ever had; obviously fresh. The steak tartare was also very fresh and well proportioned. The portions were generous, the staff, friendly even though my French is almost non-existent, and the place was clean.
