I don't often make reviews unless the restaurants are really bad or really good. We had a reservation in a Mexican restaurant that was cancelled by the restaurant at the last minute and decided to go here instead. At first we were sceptical especially two of us were Americans, from Texas and knew what tex mex should taste like. But we were just leaving it in the hands of God at this moment. We ordered nachos, some cocktails, and fries with truffle mayonaise. Imagine our surprise when everything that arrived were home made, the nacho chips are homemade and are amazing. The guacamole was the best we've tried in belgium, very good, and the truffle mayo was delicious! Everything was too good. Cocktails were awesome as well. Then we ordered tacos, maybe 6 different tacos. When they came, OHMIGOD they were so good! The tortillas were also homemade and so so good. Despite when we read the menu and saw odd combinations of ingredients made into tacos, but we ordered anyway, everything that came worked so well and just pure good food. Then we found out that the chef was from Chile. Well, that explains a lot! :) In short this is a place that we will frequent quite often as everything is just so good. We came home happy and just satisfied. :) Try it, you...
Read moreI was disappointed with both the taste and quality of the food… While the fresh juices were the highlight, the overall dining experience felt more like fast food than the gastronomic taco dining experience the restaurant claims to offer.
For my starter, I had the calamari with tartar sauce. Unfortunately, the calamari was tough and lacked a fresh taste. Rather than the promised tartar sauce, I was served a mayonnaise with some herbs sprinkled on top.
The taco duo (gyros) was visually appealing, but bland and underwhelming. The taco shells were dry, and the flavors didn't live up to the "gastronomic taco" description.
Given the high price, I was expecting a more refined and flavorful experience that honored the taco's Mexican roots…
Overall, the food did not live up to my expectations and with such a pricing it’s not worth it - taking into consideration the current market prices.
Based on this experience, I won't...
Read moreWow, very interesting culinary experience! The chips and guacamole are the best in the city, by far. The "tacos" are unique creations that don't taste like traditional Mexican tacos, but rather try to explore different flavors and textures from around the world. From looking at them on the menu, they seem weird, but trust me, they work. Clearly the creations of an experienced, passionate chef. We liked every one that we tried, with the Acapulco being our favorite. Service was great and staff was very friendly. The dessert offerings of a traditional patisserie were unexpected, but also delicious. It's all a bit eclectic, but it's all thought out and well done. Be open-minded and come here expecting something different and unique, and you will...
