No exaggeration, but this is literally my worst italian experience. The second you enter the restaurant, you smell the horrific smell of rotten egg/ rancid which hits you in the face: it usually comes when the egg and protein dishes are not well cleaned. We’ve ordered the vegan truffle pasta dish (? Forgot the exact name) and a nduja /ragu plate. The pasta was poorly cooked (no it wasn’t even al dente) the nduja plate’s tasted only walnut which was weird; as for the vegan truffle, the disappointment was unbelievable: it was soooo dry (not sure you can see it on the picture) we had to ask for extra parmesan cheese for both dishes because there were barely any. Honestly, the whole smell taste experience was bad. Not to mention that it’s over-priced.

The ambiance was good. The service was a bit slow, but the waiter was kind. The pasta was very disappointing. We requested it to be very al dente several times, but it arrived completely overcooked. My husband ordered the pasta called “Stracciatella e Alici,” which listed the following ingredients: butter, cream of stracciatella, anchovies, and pistachios. The dish he was served did include those ingredients but was completely covered in pecorino cheese - and it only tasted like pecorino cheese.

Stumbled upon this gem of a place on our first day in Brussels. Handmade pasta, passionate and kind chef, super nice and caring waitress and the best Italian food we had had so far. Since we didn’t know the language, the waitress brought the menu board inside and patiently explained each dish to us. Even had the chef make a sample for us to try before ordering. The food was perfection and our only regret is that we couldn’t visit the place again before leaving Brussels. A must visit.

Or donc, La solution était toute trouvée, un dessert!

Pas-le-moindre-sursaut. Normal day at work.

A true Italian restaurant in Brussels! I went to Fresca for a work dinner, and I can only recommend it! The pasta is handmade, and you can really taste the difference. The ingredients are also of the highest quality. I tried the appetizer, Scamorza in padella—an amazing dish with high-quality olive oil and tomato sauce (and they know you need bread for the scarpetta!). For the main pasta dish, I had Cacio e Pepe, perfectly balanced and creamy. The desserts are also a must-try, especially the tiramisu. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is impeccable. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel at home. If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience in Brussels, this is the place to be. I'll definitely be back!
