SINA PASTA - FOREST — Restaurant in Forest - Vorst

We’re travelling to Brussels for the weekend, there’s two of us eating out and we fancied pasta for the evening. Food quality was great, authentic Italian, can’t fault the food!

However, unfortunately we had an issue with the service. Our personal waiter was very polite, friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the manager came over and delivered the wrong food. We straight away attempted to send one plate back which was incorrect. However the manager assured us that it was the correct order and that we were wrong.

As we are vegetarian we were sure we didn’t order this dish containing meat and we assured the manager that we didn’t make the order.

The manager took away the meat dish, We proceeded to eat the dish that was correct, and we shared this between us for a few moments.

After continuing to eat the dish, the manager came back and attempted to remove the dish from us. However realised we had already started. She was not happy with this.

Although we understand that these things happen, and every so often we all make mistakes. And this is not a true reflection of the restaurant.

It was the attitude of the manager that we didn’t like. The manager was quite rude in this situation judging from her body language and facial expressions. Furthermore, she didn’t apologise either even though it was completely her fault.

The nice waitress can over later and apologised to us for the inconvenience, however this was not her fault.

We waited 5 mins or so, and the other dish arrived. So this was all fine. And the quality was great!

When we paid for the meal we didn’t receive any deductions for the inconvenience.

Just general politeness would go far from the manager in this situation, as we know it was an...

J'ai hésité à poster mon avis, mais comme j'y pense encore lorsque je passe devant l'établissement, je le poste maintenant. Le 8 février 2024, ayant un rendez-vous à proximité, j'arrive au Sina et suis accueillie par une demoiselle très gentille qui m'installe.  3 minutes après, je me dirige vers la toilette et suis stoppée net par un jeune homme qui me demande si nous sommes 2.... je lui demande s il voit une autre personne... il rétorque que le 1er étage n'est pas destiné aux personnes en solo... ok... mais je ne voulais pas monter... Si vous aimez le froid polaire en mangeant au resto, c est la bonne adresse... Accueillie par un jeune homme très hautain, tout aussi glacial que la température ambiante...et directif à souhait avec sa jeune serveuse qui tente de donner le meilleur d'elle-même; la seule sympathique d'entre tous.... il dépose un Ritchie sans aucune politesse, en regardant ailleurs...Il continue le "coaching" à voix très haute et délaisse les clients... aucun contact avec la clientèle. Portion de parmesan : 1cuillère à soupe. Pâtes micro-ondées juste avant le service.... quel dommage...Peut-être est-il frustré du fait qu'il est handicapé d'un bras actuellement.... tout à son honneur de travailler quand même mais....  il accorde plus d'importance à la foule d'emportés plutôt qu'aux personnes présentes aux tables. 3 tables bien délaissées, 1 table dont il s'occupe car de toute évidence, il connaît les 2 filles qui y sont.... Le résultat d'un accueil aussi catastrophique est déjà visible... entrée à 11h 40 et sortie à 13h15, 3 tables de 2 personnes et 2 tables d'1 personne....8 clients sur le temps de midi.... alors que la capacité assise dépasse les 60 places.... Pâtes fraîches comme annoncé, mais rien de si terrible.  De plus, connaissant l'Italie, réputée pour sa nourriture et son bon vin, vous n'aurez même pas le choix... : pas un seul verre de vin pour accompagner votre mets... no alcool.  Je demande l'addition et il me répond sans aucun regard dans ma direction qu'il faut se rendre au desk....regard fuyant, aucune empathie, une fois mais pas deux !...

The interior just does not provide a welcoming atmosphere.

On substance- it’s just not really good Italian food. More like a Belgian Italian place. Bolognese is really substandard. Pasta with pistachio pesto is pretty bland. Mind you, pay attention - the place serves no alcoholic beverages. The closest you get is a zero percent beer.

Most people seem to eat and leave - whether it’s the lack of alcohol or the atmosphere or a combination of both or more factors - it just adds.
