Antichi Sapori — Restaurant in Ghent

Everyone was friendly, food was pretty good, not very expensive Honestly 3,5 to 4 out of 5 stars.

My problem is that when I went to pay, I pull out my debit card at which point the server says 'only cash' It's only when I ask if Payconiq or creditcard is possible that they say yes to the creditcard.

Not accepting debit cards or at least Payconiq in the middle of a city in 2024 is insane to me. I was lucky to have a credit card or I would've been unable to pay.

Very lovely restaurant run by even more lovely family and staff. We were able to sit with two families, and we ordered three courses: starter, main and desert. After we started with Pane, Bruschetta and Melanzane alla parmigiana, half of our table ordered pizza and the other half ordered pasta or meat-main dish. The ice-cream was wonderful, especially the Dame Blanche tasted superb because of the ice-cream. I often eat Italian, but I cannot recall I ever had a better Melanzane alla parmigiana than the one I ate at Antichi...

Good atmosphere, nice people, great food. We've been here many times and every time the food was too delicious to wait for a photo. Lovely authentic Italian food. Their tomato sauce is amazing. We've tried almost every pasta dish on the menu and they don't disappoint. We have some favourites like the penne all'amatriciana (definitely try). Any time we're near Gent we make a detour...
