Mayana Chocolate in Ghent delivers on flavor we ordered their traditional hot chocolate and four chocolate chip cookies, and they were absolutely delicious. The richness of the hot chocolate and the perfectly baked cookies made it a standout experience for quality.
However, what left us puzzled was the branding and promotion of Dubai chocolate. Belgium is known for its world-class chocolate traditions, so it felt odd to see emphasis on a name with no historical connection to chocolate. Beyond that, Dubai has been widely criticized for its serious human rights violations, particularly in areas like migrant worker exploitation, censorship, and restrictions on freedom of expression. It seems unnecessary—if not outright problematic—to associate high-quality chocolate with a country that has no ties to chocolate-making and a troubling human rights record.

The cosiest chocolate bar in Ghent. A must visit for anyone who loves to indulge in chocolate.
Upon entering you can already see that they have done everything they can to create a relaxing, fun and cosy place.
The staff is very welcoming and made sure everyone is serviced properly. The location itself was very clean as well.
This chocolate bas offers a huge variety of snacks and food. I myself took a brownie, chocolate pancakes and the yoghurt granola bowl, let’s talk about indulging… 😂
For drinks i went for coffee and later on the chocolate mint tea. Both very nice and tasty.
Next time I’m definitely trying a chocolate milk next time.
They closed up at 6 on Friday and were kind enough to let me finish my pancakes. I did not feel pressured to leave at all but I did not want to be an annoyance so took my leave asap. Upon leaving the whole team said farewell and wished for me to have a great weekend.
I usually don’t share this much detail but this time the service was so impeccable that I just felt the need to do so.
Definitely coming back here and would advise anyone to come visit!
Thank you for making my day...
