Dish — Restaurant in Ghent

Priced as a gastro culinary experience, unfortunately the quality of dishes and service doesn't match up. Sharing dishes are 20eur per plate on average, you need 5-6 plates for 2 people to feel satisfied. Wines are 7-11euro per glass. Service was friendly but too slow (it took 15-20min after we were seated to take our apero drinks order) and it took long in between dishes to get attention or be served as well. One dish was great (beef tartare), one decent (pimientos de padron), one meh (tagliatelle with paprika and asperge) - lacked seasoning and was served lukewarm. The bread basket wasn't refilled and plates weren't replaced in between dishes, so you end up eating your beef tartare in the same plate as your pimientos with yoghurt sauce and without bread. The cutlery wasn't fully clean (came out of the dishwasher with leftovers cooked on - no quality control). All these details matter when you price food the way it's priced at Dish. One of the staff also had a sour face all evening. I do want to commend the lady who served our wines, you could tell she was doing her best and was very good natured (offering you to taste the wine, fresh glass for each wine etc.). Pictures are not fair to the kind menu prepared for the genius chef. It is a short menu what makes the options easier. But the menu goes to all type of flavors. Nothing strong but everything unforgettable. I go there every time I have to surprise people with new experiences and flavors.
