Guerrilla — Restaurant in Ghent

My cousin and I went for dinner for my birthday. It was during the Gentse Feesten. For starters we had a p star martini cocktail which was very good as well as the fried chicken and calamares - both extremely tasty and 100% to recommend! However, we were quite disappointed with the meat tower and did not finish it. As stated in the other reviews, the tower was updated during the gentse feesten, probably because the jitchen wouldn't have been able to keep up with the food during the festivities if the options were to broad. The patatas bravas and the burrata were okay we we were not a fan of the rest and would've preferred to order the full mexican tower which wasn't available then. That being said we had a fun time, shout out to our very friendly server as well & i'd definitely want to come back to try the actualy meat towers...

What a shame. Friendly staff and nice venue, but the food 🤢, and the price you pay is insane. 55€ for the Leon platter that has kebab tasting tacos, two samosas, undressed salad, olives with tajin seasoning, chips that have clearly come out of a store bought bag with very spicy sauce and more of tajin seasoning, cut pieces of jalapeños, black olives, tomato and corn, also with the tajin seasoning, four chicken skewers (which were really nice), 4 very spicy chicken wings, a bowl of store bought cream cheese and salsa dip and a spoonful of guacamole. All was tasting like the tajin seasoning, it wasn’t elaborated at all and it was spicy (which would be fine if they didn’t charge you almost 7€ for a bottle of water).

I think if they lowered the price it would be fine, but 55€ is totally unacceptable for just one item...

awful service - definitely don’t go here!!! they are really badly organized, rude, and dishonest. we waited 20 minutes for a waiter to even come take our drink orders (the one saving grace, the drinks are good). we ordered an étagère for two, waited an hour before we asked a waitress how much longer we were going to have to wait, she told us there had been a miscommunication and our food would be there five minutes later (finally!!). when we went to pay they charged us for three people (we had clearly ordered for two, when we asked for a refund the owner told us we were lying and he didn’t want to talk to us anyways…). this place has the worse service i’ve ever experienced, topped off with the rudest and least professional staff and owner. plus it’s incredibly overpriced and the food is only mediocre....
