Halab Al-Shahbae — Local services in Ghent

I recently visited Halab Al Shahbea and unfortunately had a negative experience. I left something behind and, upon my return, I was informed that it had been discarded. The staff was unhelpful and exhibited rude behavior. I understand mistakes happen, but the lack of assistance and the dismissive attitude were disappointing. It would have been appreciated if there had been more effort to resolve the situation. This aspect of the visit overshadowed an otherwise decent dining experience. I hope the staff can work on improving their customer service...

OMG! This place is sooo delicious!!! We had the lamb wrap and the mixed plate, everything had so much flavor, meat was nice and tender, the right spices on everything, the salad that came with the platter and the hummus and other sauces were just perfect with my meal. The owner was very nice and friendly and made us feel welcome. Don't expect a fancy place but in my opinion it doesn't matter their asyrian food is the best in town! Don't miss it, you'll regret it!! This place kinda blew my mind.

Walked in late night hopping to grab some reasonably healthy food after a few days of travel and heavy meals. Had to wait a while but it was super entertaining watching the guy behind the counter cook and take orders.
