Go, go, go! Was in the 'Bailli' neighborhood of Bruxelles late last week, wanted a drink before dinner at a renowned pizzeria on the rue du Bailli, and happened upon 'Confessions', a slightly hidden but true little gem on the Parvis de la Trinite (no. 10) just opposite the Eglise de la Sainte-Trinite... and from where I assume comes its name. Rang the bell (it has a private club feel but without any of the pretension) and I was let in and greeted by its gracious owners, Yves and Nicholas. A comfortable lounge-like atmosphere awaits all who attend; an establishment with superior house and other drinks/cocktails, wine, champagne, etc., comfortable lounge chairs and lighting, pleasing music and an assortment of art and sculpture that blends in perfectly. But kids at the door kept banging and banging. Last straw wet to the toilet and no soap. I’m sorry no soap, is a killer, have a basic standard toilet roll and soap. I’m not convinced they used it all. Either way kids running a bar,...
Read moreNever seen a place like it in Brussels! Tailored cocktails and snacks made with absolute precision. You name it, they can make it! Very cosy place to sit in with friends to enjoy the atmosphere and the AMAZING music, setting the tone just right. Extremely friendly staff and amazing wall murals. If you're as lucky as me to bump into the artist, you realise how much attention to detail has gone to the paintings, bringing together new York, Brussels and Jamaica in her creations. Want to up the game? Fear not. This bar also offers confession booths in the toilet(!!), a confessions game and soon every drink will come with its own specially made piece of music. I can only recommend! But don't...
