Il Pasticcio — Restaurant in Ixelles - Elsene

The menu was all in Italian which would be ok if we were in Italy, we're not. So that means that we either Google every dish or ask the waiters what it means. At least add some translation below the names, or just the simplified list of ingredients?

We were asked to move to another table, which was annoying, but we understood, they needed our table.

Both of our plates looked dirty. We asked for new ones and they denied that it was dirty. They had some conversation in Italian where it was clear they were upset about us having complained. The waiters did bring new plates, these also looked dirty. I guess the dishes all LOOK dirty but they aren't? I guess it could be just water leftovers but it looks bad. I didn't ask for new plates after that.

The food came, it was ok. Nothing spectacular, nothing bad either.

So here are my suggestions: get new plates/check what is making them look like that include information in the local language about the...

Superb food, really friendly staff, fantastic ambience, and great vegetarian choices on the menu. As we entered we saw that the restaurant was crowded. This is always a good sign. After a short wait we got a table and our waiter spoke almost no English... Just French My years in school learning French were put to great use a s we managed to order our lunch. The starters were delicious. And all three pastas - arrabiata, with vegetables and the ravioli were fantastic. Couldn't really decide which one was better than the other. All were really nice. Then we got the dessert. Profiteroles - these were just too good! We had to have one more round and we did.
