If you are a FOREIGNER, who can not speak perfect French, AVOID the place at all costs!!!
I have been going to Voltaire since 2014 (it was Gaudron by then). This one and the Plasch (now called Au Savoy) have been my neighbourhood restos for the last 8-10 years despite of the theatretical grumpiness of the service staff in both of them and less so at Voltaire… until today…
I have always been happy with the smiley service of the female service staff who have been always so kind to bring water to my chihuahua.
BUT, today was a nightmare. Today is THE FIRST TIME that I have been treated so RUDELY by a service staff -a face I can not recognise because of the mask- that I have ever experienced in Brussels since I moved to this city!!! It was XENOPHOBIC and LINGUISTICALLY CHAUVINISTIC!!!
Shame on you Voltaire for recruiting...
