ZouZou Brussels « Ixelles » — Restaurant in Ixelles - Elsene

I was referred to Zou Zou by TikTok, and I really enjoyed my experience.

Disclaimer: My experience may vary from yours, and that's okay, but let's get back to the review. Lol.

The hosts were nice and very easy to order with despite the language barrier. They do have an English menu available via QR Code.

-The shrimp were great with the sauce. Not sure what the sauce was, but it was great. -The biscoff pancakes with the whipped cream were delicious. It just just the right amount of sweet. The bananas were fresh as well. I particularly do not like bananas because of their texture when they are reduced, so I can appreciate fresh bananas. The burger was good as well. Just remember ask for sauce to put on it. I used the side sauce that came with it for my fries. -The apple and kiwi juice was good also.

I thought the place was very cute. The vibe/ambiance was super friendly, and it is very clean. I would visit again if afforded the opportunity to travel to...

Its a small place, with few tables. The part of the staff I interacted with has no idea what they are doing. There was a free table for 4, which I took for a group of 6, after I asked politely if it’s ok. 3 mins after I was seated, I was asked to leave bcs two people came in and I was explained that i cannot be alone and blocking a table for 4 people. My friends arrived 1 min after. The lady explained to me that we can just wait a bit. A bit meant at least 20 mins and obviously she meant outside on 5 degrees and rain since you can barely move around in the place. There are around 20 brunch/lunch/coffee places in the neighbourhood, all of them with better vibe (which is not very hard) and personnel that would not treat u like you have to deserve the precious chance of eating their overpriced, mundane food. As soon as we arrived we were met with a very friendly smile. It’s so rare now a days to see this. We felt so welcomed.

During ordering, again everything was explained really well. They were very happy to accommodate to our picky child.

The food was amazing. We had the dynamite chicken and shrimp, burger meals, and mojitos. The kids had milkshakes too. The burgers were so juicy, not dry at all. The mojitos were really really great. You can really taste the flavour you chose including the milkshakes too. The portions are very very generous. Overall we really enjoyed the food.

We were so full we couldn’t add dessert. Hopefully we can plan to visit again soon to try out the desserts.
