Osteria Bolognese is what other restaurants aspire to be. It's no surprise that you need to book well in advance.
The food is outstanding (not just great by the standards of Italian food in Brussels, but by Italian standards full stop) and the family that owns / runs the restaurant provide some of the warmest, most helpful service I've ever experienced. Regardless of how busy the restaurant is, they're always happy to surrender their time to talk and discuss ingredients (almost all of which are brought directly from Bologna). The whole experience fits the small setting perfectly. To top it off, a meal there won't break the bank.

It boasts a small menu of great tasty homemade dishes, full of flavour and locally-sourced ingredients. Add the gentle,l smiles and the open,welcoming charm of the staff and you can be sure to make your meal a treat! I was alone and the staff was so nice and welcoming, they set me up a small table for 1 on the pavement, talked through all the dishes and recommended their favourite. Great menu with only 5-6 pasta courses, none of the "classic" Italian abroad spaghetti Bolognese type courses but really authentic and delicious ones. The sausage ragu was delicious in its simplicity as only Italians can do it. 100% will be coming back next time...
