I recently visited Darband, a Persian restaurant located in Kortrijk, Belgium, and I must say that I was blown away by the exceptional food and fantastic service. From start to finish, my dining experience was absolutely delightful.
The moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was warmly welcomed by the owner Rooshanak who escorted me to my table. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with beautifully decorated walls and ambient lighting that set the perfect mood for the evening.
Now, let's talk about the food - it was simply outstanding! I ordered the Persian saffron ice cream as a dessert, and it was one of the most delicious desserts I have ever had. The flavor of the saffron was perfectly balanced and it was creamy and smooth, simply divine!
The main course was also an absolute treat. The flavors and spices used in the dishes were authentic and truly brought out the essence of Persian cuisine. The lamb kabobs and Kobideh were particularly flavorful and cooked to perfection. The portion sizes were generous and left me feeling completely satisfied.
In addition to the excellent food, the service was top-notch. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. They were more than happy to answer any questions I had and made me feel very welcome.
Overall, I would highly recommend Darband to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional, and I can't wait to go back again! Five...

Every single detail — from the sesame seeds on the small bowl of salad, to every ingredient in my grilled dish, to the right amount of pistachio in the ice cream — was thoughtfully considered. The way they adjust and balance ingredients in creating each dish shows that everything is made with love, not just throwing in saffron or pomegranate for the sake of calling it Persian. It all felt intentional, delicate, and deeply rooted in tradition. The prices? very fair for the quality and experience.
I left truly impressed, full of joy. I can strongly recommend this place — it’s...
Read moreWe went for the sharing courses, for the entrée and the main course (the one with the stews), both were ok but nothing special, I was kinda expecting more spices all together? I'm surprised of the ratings here but maybe it is a personnal taste.
I'm now wondering if we shouldn't went for the kebabs sharing option instead (like in most of the comments) cause we were both disappointed about the stews.
The Virgin Tehran Mule (mocktail) was ok but again nothing really special.
Special mention for the explanations in English though, as I do not speak dutch, thank...
