Oona Asian Restaurant — Restaurant in Leuven

I had the pleasure of dining at Onna restaurant in Leuven recently, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. From the moment I walked in, I had no expectations, but the restaurant truly exceeded them.

The menu offered a delightful variety, and we decided to start with the lumpia platters which were a delicious way to kick off our meal. The standout for me was the green tofu curry – it had just the right balance of flavors and left me craving for more. The fusion Thai mango salad was another winner; the blend of ingredients was simply mouthwatering.

What truly added to the overall experience was the friendly service we received. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and catered to. It's not often that you find such a combination of great food and exceptional service.

If you're in Leuven and looking for a place to dine, I highly recommend giving Onna a try. Even if you come in with no expectations, like I did, you'll leave with a satisfying and memorable...

I ordered chicken masala and requested it to be extra hot and they delivered exactly what I was craving. Delicious! The vegetable wok dish my companion ordered was quite good as well and I've been told their duck dish is worth coming back for. I will definitely revisit to try more of the menu.

Service here was friendly though a bit slow at times. One waitress for the whole place on Sunday afternoon can lead to a bit of a wait while she caters to other customers, particularly if they want to ask about every single dish on the menu (as was my experience). I don't know if this is always the case, hopefully there are more wait staff...

Asian fastfood, but slow. We tried out this place on a Saturday evening. The mango salad missed some of its listed ingredients, no peanut, no tarragon. Resulting salad missed flavor. The mandras curry was not nearly as spicy as it should be. The chicken loempia rolls were tiny. Runny curry, not creamy. Small portions for their price. The service was ok although the waiter not once asked whether everything was fine. I guess they do not need to... On the positive side, both the outdoor as indoor athmospere is what it should be in center Leuven. Go here if you have time, crave mediocre Asian food and are not...
