Hawaiian Poke Bowl - Leuven — Restaurant in Leuven

First off, the decor of this place is next level. All the (fake) greenery and coconut style lampshades make it feel so tropical. There's plenty of seating and the chairs are comfy. Only thing I noticed when I walked in is that quite a few tables hadn't been cleared, yet staff weren't busy making food at the time either..

Placing your order through the screens is super easy. Either order a pre-existing bowl or make your own from scratch. Then enter your table number, take the number to your table and wait for your order. I only waited about 5 minutes or so. The portion size was definitely more than I was expecting for a medium, and the flavors/ingredient quality was on point. Only thing I didn't notice was that the pre-existing bowl I ordered had cherry tomatoes in it for some reason (tuna bowl). This is definitely not a standard poke ingredient and caught me off guard. I don't remember ever encountering it in my 8 years of living in the US lol.

So overall, my experience was good. The pricing though is definitely on the higher side compared to what I'm used to in the US. Maybe some ingredients run up a higher cost in Belgium. But you do get quality, that's for sure. I do wish staff were more friendly and welcoming. For such a tropical paradise, the atmosphere did...

They've gotten much better since my previous review from 3 months ago. First of all the food is great and they haven't messed up my order the last couple of times I've been here. The people themself seem really nice and the problem of not getting cutlery or them not being in stock and having you wait a long time or having to change your order has also been eliminated. So I am proud to say I am raising my rating by three stars. Donw below you can see my previous review from 3 months ago, and in a month or two I'll write a second serious review about the place.

The first couple of times were really nice but it seems to be falling apart. The last few times I've been there they seemed quite slow and keep getting my order wrong. The tables are never ready and ingredients keep going away making your choices more and more limited. Honestly they don't seem to be taking anything seriously or they are under too much pressure and are about to close. I have to say when they first opened it was GREAT but that is...

The longer they're open, the worse it gets... What started out as a great concept with great food (and very nice portions) turned into a place that never delivers what you order, prices that keep on going up, and portions that keep on getting smaller. We just ordered 3 bowls today, 1 was not even close to what was ordered (rice instead of quinoa, no avocado, no cucumber, no seaweed salad, no mango, no teriyaki sauce), the other 2 were both missing cucumber, avocado, the one that we ordered with salmon came without salmon... It's getting sad! Luckily some new poké concepts are opening in Leuven because we won't order here again. Oh and by the way, I'm not the "bad review" kind of person, but after so many failed orders, I find it time to prevent others from going through the same...
