This is definitely the best sushi in Leuven. And cheaper as well compared to other restaurants. What we ordered is a sushi boat with more than 20 pieces served with two bowls of miso soup. Their miso soup is also better than other restaurants'. The chefs and waiter are also really nice. I go here often with my husband and friends. When I graduated in 2017, they even gave us free drinks as a congratulatory gift. And other times, they serve us with coffee or appetizers on the house. Other than the food, I enjoy more the kindness and hospitality of the staffs in this restaurant.

Beautiful place to eat sushi, the food is fresh and healthy, no excessive salt in the food and overall balanced flavour. Polite Crew that assist you when you need something and nice atmosphere. Price for 2 people boat 35€(in the picture), is included a miso soup (also this well balanced) in the price. For 2 people is enough. Gyoza not so good, they lack of flavour and choice but no stomach problem. 1l of Water 5€. If you can't finish the boat they pack everything for you and give soysauce, sticks, ginger and wasabi.

Delicious & affordable Japanese quality food with very friendly cooks & waitress in a cosy atmosphere!!! The decorations of eating room, plates, boat meals of sushi were excellent in a quiet peaceful space to relax & enjoy!! Chill and fast & adequate service, even flexible in slightly adapting a menu box on a Sunday evening! It's a pitty I only have pictures of my friend with the food.

A Disappointing Experience at Kyoto Sushi

Introduction: My recent visit to Kyoto Sushi left me feeling utterly disappointed and dissatisfied. As a sushi enthusiast, I had high hopes for this establishment, but unfortunately, it failed to meet even the most basic expectations. From the lackluster service to the subpar quality of the food, my experience at Kyoto Sushi was nothing short of underwhelming.

Service: The service at Kyoto Sushi was abysmal, to say the least. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive throughout the entire evening. It took an eternity for someone to acknowledge our presence and seat us, despite the restaurant being relatively empty. The waitstaff appeared untrained and clueless about the menu, unable to provide any recommendations or answer basic questions about the dishes. Our orders were frequently mixed up, resulting in unnecessary delays and frustration. It was evident that the staff lacked the necessary skills and professionalism to provide a satisfactory dining experience.

Ambiance: The ambiance of Kyoto Sushi was equally disappointing. The interior was outdated and poorly maintained, with worn-out furniture and a general lack of cleanliness. The lighting was dim, making it difficult to appreciate the presentation of the sushi. The overall atmosphere was dull and uninspiring, failing to create a pleasant dining environment. It felt as though the restaurant had neglected any efforts to create a welcoming and enjoyable space for its patrons.

Food Quality: The most crucial aspect of any sushi restaurant is, undoubtedly, the quality of the food. Unfortunately, Kyoto Sushi fell short in this department as well. The sushi rolls lacked freshness and were noticeably bland. The fish used in the rolls had an unpleasant odor, indicating poor quality and improper handling. The rice was overcooked and mushy, completely ruining the texture of the sushi. The lack of attention to detail and the absence of any distinct flavors left me questioning the authenticity of the ingredients used. It was evident that the sushi was prepared without the care and precision that one would expect from a reputable sushi restaurant.

Variety and Creativity: Another disappointment was the limited variety and lack of creativity in the menu. The selection of sushi rolls was incredibly limited, with only a handful of options available. The lack of unique and innovative combinations made the dining experience monotonous and unexciting. It felt as though the restaurant was merely going through the motions, offering the bare minimum without any effort to stand out from the competition. The absence of any seasonal or chef's specials further highlighted the lack of creativity and passion in the culinary offerings.

Value for Money: Considering the overall poor quality of the food and service, the prices at Kyoto Sushi were unjustifiably high. The exorbitant prices did not align with the subpar experience provided. It felt like a complete rip-off, leaving me with a sense of regret for choosing this restaurant over other, more reputable sushi establishments in the area.

Conclusion: In conclusion, my experience at Kyoto Sushi was nothing short of disappointing. From the lackluster service to the subpar quality of the food, this establishment failed to meet even the most basic expectations. The untrained staff, uninspiring ambiance, and limited variety further added to the overall negative experience. I would strongly advise sushi enthusiasts to explore other options in the area, as Kyoto Sushi does not live up to...

One more piece of evidence that service and hospitality are lacking from these people, and, most disgustingly, the food is terrible!

We came with a small group, including a child. There was only one waiter working for the entire restaurant. The restaurant owner cut corners not only on the cheap interior but also on untrained staff. The poor waiter served us after 15 minutes of us sitting down because he was dealing with takeout orders. It took another 30 minutes for us to receive our drinks, not the main dishes, and three of my friends were still waiting for tea and cappuccino, which we had to wait an extra 15 minutes for.

It felt like they had gone to a plantation to gather coffee beans and tea leaves to make our hot drinks.

The restaurant started filling up with patrons while three chefs and one waiter were focused on takeout orders rather than attending to diners.

After 1 hour and 30 minutes, we received our sushi, which was falling apart and not tasty at all, and our friend received a completely wrong order. The child, exhausted and impatient, refused to eat their order.

The only thing we received was a cheap "Sorry," and it didn't even seem sincere!

This is the reason why Nepalese sushi restaurants and others like them will go out of business:

Firstly, their service is incompetent, and even after ten years of experience, it remains subpar!

They cut costs on everything, from food to the interior!

They lack creativity!

Our tolerance and leniency have led to such consequences, resulting in indifference in all aspects of service and business!

I wouldn't be surprised if this restaurant goes bankrupt, just like other sushi restaurants, due to...

Oh, the Willy Wonka Sushi Factory, what a delight, We won the golden ticket, what a splendid night! With jolly steps and songs, we did arrive, But Willy Wonka was absent, no one to guide.

Oompa-Loompas in chaos, running amok, Ordered our food, then we sat and we talked. Cappuccino tasted burnt, oh what a sin, Time passed so slowly, a minute felt like a spin.

An hour and a half, our patience did wane, Our conversation topics, we had drained. Suspecting those Oompa-Loompas, oh so sly, Sniffing cacao powder, they left us high and dry.

At last, the ship of fishy goodness sailed, But the mediocrity of it left us quite derailed. Roasted pieces were cold, vegetables so soggy, Uncooked rice, like my appetite, oh so groggy.

Only recommend this place if Wonka's your thing, For the food and the wait, disappointment it'll bring. Willy Wonka and the Sushi Factory's the attraction, But for a decent meal, it's not our...
