Mamma Mia — Restaurant in Leuven

Was honestly surprised by how terribly we were served. We’re visiting the area and thought this would a nice place to end our night after traveling all day.

Sat down with my husband and young child. We were sitting for over an hour before they told us they hadn’t even put our order in yet. But somehow the party of 10 sitting next to us that came a half hour after us ALL got their pizzas in a timely fashion? Absurd. It was almost 9 pm and all they managed to serve was bruschetta and even that was bland. All we ordered was a pizza and a pasta nothing fancy or special, but it took my son crying for his food for them to remember they had an entire table they forgot about. Don’t take the customers if you’re too busy for them.

And what’s almost even more insulting was they thought they had done nothing wrong??? As if a pregnant woman and a crying 3 year old are enjoying waiting over an hour for a simple pizza and spaghetti? Completely ruined our evening and honestly thoughts of Leuven...

Well…that was not what I expected at all. Service was terrible even for west Europe. We were moved several times from table to table.

Salad with tomatoes and tuna was just rucola, slices of tomato and canned tune on top without olive oil.

Risotto was made from basmati rice and without the wine.

My steak was undercooked, but I was asked how I like my meat. It is really hard to screw entrecôte, but they managed. This particular dish is served with pasta. So, in italian restaurant, pasta was not al dente!!!! It was overcooked!!!!!!

All dishes never met any spices, including salt and pepper.

House wine is just Merlot from the store.

The pasta was just ok, the problem was the service. After eating my main course the waiter took everything off even the bottle of water and my glass. From that moment I waited 45 minutes for someone to come back to me and take the following of my order. No one came so I left.

Even for paying. I was waiting for the waiter in front of the cashier. When he showed up a couple was just standing behind me waiting to pay for their dinner. He choose to make them pay just before me. Outstanding.
