Mezzaluna — Restaurant in Leuven

I wanted to give this place a try and when arriving it was super hot so definitely not very comfortable. They were not even able to open windows. Secondly, I order a salad with olives. What do I receive? A salad WITHOUT olives. I've asked if it was a mistake, and then they get back to me saying that the salad is correct; I showed that the menu indicates the salad had olives and they just replied that this is what they normally offer so again, illogical, unprofessional response. Then I order a classic lasagna, so I expect that it will have some sort of minced meat or at least some meat even in small quantities, but this was just a mix of pasta, sauce, cheese and a weird ham/bacon but 0 meat. So, I'm sorry, this cannot be a classic lasagna. I asked if there was supposed to have some meat and then they reply saying that this is what they've being doing for years. Dit is ons vaste adres als we iets te vieren hebben of eens dicht bij huis uit eten willen gaan. Het mooie is dat de kaart op de website staat, zodat je voor je bezoek al eens kan kijken wat je zou willen eten. Dit is handig als je slechtziend of blind bent en de kaart ter plaatse niet zelf kan lezen. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Pizza's worden b.v. op verzoek van de klant al in stukken gesneden, zodat ik die met de hand kan eten, en beperkte wijzigingen aan de ingrediënten zijn mogelijk bij de verse pizza's: pikante salami door tonijn vervangen en/of wat look toevoegen b.v. is mogelijk. Het restaurant is sfeervol, de akoestiek is tamelijk goed (alleen bij grote drukte in het restaurant is elkaar begrijpen wat lastiger), het eten is lekker, goed qua prijs/kwaliteit. Kinderen zijn er welkom en zullen zeker iets lekkers op de kaart kunnen vinden. Er zijn ook enkele vegetarische gerechten, maar de keuze is niet echt uitgebreid. Gelukkig worden de ingrediënten van de pasta’s en pizza’s op de kaart vermeld, zodat je zelf redelijk kan inschatten of een gerecht al dan niet iets voor je is. Don't accept Visa, Mastercard or any other international banking financial cards, meaning we had to go out and draw excess Euros that we didn't really need (due to minimum withdrawal amount). Food was nice, service was alright, the place was suffering from the smell of poor drainage...
