Portogalo — Restaurant in Leuven

I had Caldeirada de Peixe which had assorted fish, clams, mussles, prawns, potatoes, tomatoes and paprika. It was amazing, the broth was very rich and flavourful. The seafood was fresh I especially loved that I got different kinds of fish.

Hubby got cod cooked in cream and potatoes. It was good but a bit heavy, but that’s probably because we already had calamari and salgados (cod croquettes which were VERY delicious. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and I love the texture of the cod). The pastel de nata was also really really good, the pastry was buttery and the filling was so creamy. The staff was also very friendly, we had a lovely night.

Just a tip though. You better book beforehand since the place is a bit small so it’s not guaranteed that you’ll get a place...

The staff is very warm and friendly and give a feeling that they really dedicate themselves to make good food for people to enjoy it! I tried the Pizza and Tiramisu , which was perfect. The pizza outer thick crust is already cut before baking thus giving a very crispy thin outer crust. Also the pizza was sliced which made it so much easier to eat. Great Italian/Portuguese restaurant between Muntstraat & Oude Markt. The food is very yummy especially the Quattro Frommagi Ragatoni & the Rose wine.
