The best gauffre in Liège, and probably the most famous one, as anyone can see by the line in front of the store. They have the traditional gauffre and the one with cinnamon (I would say the cinnamon version is also traditional). There are also filled gauffres (with fruits), a bit different, but also delicious. I really like all them, but my favourite is really the traditional vanilla gauffre. They also have some local sweets, breads and pastries (as the tarte au riz). Other highlight are the chouquettes. They are delicious and usually you can get one while waiting in the line. Also available in the cream filled version. . They speak English and they understand the worst of the French (I tried). . Tip: There are two stores. The busiest one is the one in front of the bus stop. However, there is another one across the street. The best gauffres in Liege also have a "second" door (nobody will tell you this at the long line in front of the busy one). I am not sure if the assortment is the same, but generally I can find everything I want at this one. And facing a way shorter line. You can get a free chouquette while ordering. Here is also easier to check what there is in the store, as they have a big window with many patisseries...
Read moreIn all of my 36 years of living in Belgium, this is by far the best waffle I had in my life.
Artisanal, and how! You can truly tell the waffles are of outstanding quality and someone with mastery is behind the baking process!
Not only the waffles, anything in the bakery is worth trying.
When you arrive, you will be met with a huge line of waiting people. (Both local and tourists) And trust me, it’s worth the wait.
Not only the food, but also the service will leave you smiling. You are greeted by an expert that will listen patiently to all of your questions and will explain in great detail what choices there are. In the mean time you will enjoy free samples.
Have been here a bunch of times, and never left disappointed.
5/5 stars. Best...

The place is small and you might need to make a small lane to get it and order, but worth every minute. We went for their amazing waffles. If you like the sugary crunchy type of waffle that you buy in most of waffle shops in Belgium, simply don't go there. Their waffles are soft and moist, not overly sweet and very tasty. We ordered also a cookie, buttery deliciousness is the perfect definition.
The people in the shop are friendly and sweet, they handed over some small pieces of cake and pastry for a taste test.
Hands down, the place to visit to order your sweets, weather you are visiting, or you want to treat...
