Thai café Namur — Restaurant in Namur

As a Thai person, Thai food will always be my favorite.

If you're looking for authentic Thai food, this place has a few dishes that come close, but not all of them are truly traditional. The food is okay—not bad, but also not the best I've had in Belgium or anywhere in Europe.

In my opinion, they do a good job with fried dishes.

However, the glass noodle salad had the wrong ingredients and was too sour. I mentioned this to them and found out the chef is not Thai, so she might not know the traditional recipe.

I appreciated that the chef was very humble and open when I shared my thoughts about the ingredients. She was kind and respectful, which I really liked. However, I didn’t have the same good feeling about the Filipino staff member I met.

If a restaurant wants to call itself "Thai," I believe it should truly represent Thai food. That means using authentic ingredients and recipes, or at least explaining what version of Thai food they are offering.

The location is excellent.

Visite avec une amie et mon enfant le lundi 17/02/2025. Personnel très gentil et accueillant, mais j'ai eu le malheur d'avoir un plat pas frais du tout. J'avais commandé des nouilles au poulet avec sauce aigre-doux (je ne me rappelle plus du nom du plat précisément). Le plat est arrivé avec une odeur forte d'acidité, mais j'ai cru que c'était autre chose donc j'ai pas commenté. Une fois la serveuse partie et que j'ai goûté mon poulet, il était à 200% pas frais avec l'odeur et le goût insupportable qui allait avec. J'ai fais goûter mon amie pour être certaine que je ne me trompe pas car comme je suis enceinte, les gouts peuvent varier. Elle a confirmé que c'était immangeable. J'ai demandé de changer de plat et la serveuse la gentiment repris. Le 2eme plat est arrivé avec un poulet sans odeur (ouf), donc je commence à le manger. Arrivée aux nouilles, j'ai le goût pourri du plat précédent. Donc les nouilles n'ont pas été changées...... du coup, à part les quelques morceaux de poulet, je n'ai rien mangé. J'ai fait la remarque à la serveuse. Comme nous devions partir, pas le temps d'attendre un 3eme plat. Au moment de payer, on nous a fait payer le prix plein du plat.... :) Évidemment, aucune envie d'y retourner. Aucun geste commerciale ni excuses... je ne conseille pas cet...

Very disappointing food. Tiniest Tom Yum ever. Found a whole cherry tomato inside my soup, like… no time to even cut or what?

Also taste was disappointing. And prices crazy high.

You charge a lot, I expect a lot!

I have visited Thailand more than 25x and this has nothing to do with Thai food!

Not recommended if you are looking for Thai...
