Cappuccino — Restaurant in Ostend

I asked here if I could go with my dog for breakfast to avoid what happened to me. Arriving with my labrador we waited about 3 long minutes (they were not busy) at the door, only the waiters looked at us so scared and surprised, we had to sit down because no one no matter how much they saw us waiting took us to a table. Afterwards, a waiter who is very short, very wide and thinks himself a "super daddy" and I'm sure the people who complain about the bad service are for him, because the service he gave us was disgusting, how to describe it? Arrogant, "cool" and disgusting. We were wrong to think that breakfast closed at 12, we arrived at 11:30 and he told us no, impossible and to leave. Sorry? Then some girls came to the side of our table asking for waffles, pancakes and coffees and guess what? There was no problem for them. That dwarf is the worst waiter...

Food was nice, although way too sweet. I shared a waffle with someone and took a cappuccino. Overall considering the portion sizes, I understand the somewhat higher prices.

However, our waiter, Jeroen, was very rude. He was very brief in his interactions, didn't thank us, was all over the place and clumsily dropped the food on the table. When we paid what we owed, he barely mumbled a "dank u" and left on the spot, not caring a bit that people just paid 20€. Throughout the meal, we observed Jeroen and it seems like he behaved that way with everybody. I understand that it is a busy day, but the basic politeness measures are not optional even in that case.

The food experience, which was nice, got really tainted with the service we got. I cannot recommend this coffee shop...

Ordered a tagliatelle diabolique(scampi), an Hawaiian salad and a goats cheese vol au vent salad, which all surpassed the description - presentation was superb! The taste was outstanding!! Service from the staff was excellent and they were very friendly to all customers. Prices are very competitive and reasonable. Although they cater for disabled, access through the restaurant can be a little problematic - some customers were reluctant to move their chairs a little but the staff are extremely helpful here.
