Ginkgo — Restaurant in Saint-Gilles - Sint-Gillis

Lucky this place was right around the corner from our stay in Brussels, otherwise I would've missed this little gem!

Tiny space, but filled with an abundance of goodies baked fresh daily! They're open early in the morning (7am) while the rest of the city is still somewhat asleep. Employees are super nice despite some limited English speaking barriers (this is when I wish I remembered some HS french).

Everything we tried was so good! Croissants are fresh, big and flakey (plain, almond, and Choco varieties)! The mini loaf of bread we got was sliced by request and filled with lots of walnuts and hazelnuts. I've also learned what a "bostock" was --buttery brioche+almond cream baked atop it--and its amazing!!

Now back in the states, I'm missing this place already! Wishing Gingko all the best and hope many others can enjoy their lovely baked...

Amazingly delicious pastries. Their chocolate vanille entremet is beyond this world. I also enjoy their carrot cake and viennoiseries. Their service is caring and on point. You can order online before and either pick up in store or choose for home delivery. Prices are somewhat above average, but worth it considering the quality in my opinion.

I only dislike their baguette. Since it's not really a boulangerie, the quality of the bread is basic and not so fresh, just like you bought it pre-made in the supermarket. Good thing there are some decent boulangerie alternatives in the vicinity.

You have to go here! HAVE TO! MUST! This place is beautiful and delicious and just a must go. It’s worth walking over there just to glare at the exquisitely made chocolates. But have a pastry cause they are just insanely good. I had a pain out raisin and it was huge, delicious, buttery and crisp with tons of raisins. Even better my parter tried their chocolate, custard pain au chocolate thing and that was incredible. It was the crispest, butteriest and most delicious thing over ever out in my mouth. Ever! The staff where just lovely and helpful and there’s a little window where you can see the bakers hard at work. I call it where the magic...
