Monopoli — Restaurant in Saint-Gilles - Sint-Gillis

Last week I reserved a table for 2 persons via the reservation system and a day later I received a confirmation e-mail saying that the table was reserved. We arrived on time at 8:30 pm at the restaurant, but nobody welcomed us or asked us if we had a reservation or not. 8:40 pm still nothing, still waiting in the entrance. 8:50 pm again still nothing, nor anybody who comes to speak to us or ask us anything. We were several to wait since 8:30 pm. At 9pm, waiting since more than 30 minutes, I asked the person who seems to be the person in charge what about our reservation. He answered me quite normally that the system didn't work and that in fact there was no reservation. We had to wait 30 minutes and I had to ask myself what was going on to get this answer! According to him there would be a table free in about 30 minutes (so in total 1 hour of waiting!!). Having waited for 30 minutes already and not being sure to have a place at another restaurant, we decided to wait. And at that moment we saw the cook taking out of the fridge some ravioli and spaghettis from the supermarket. Where are the fresh pasta they talk about? A lie again... Don't go there; it's...

We ordered pasta via Ubereats and found it so good that we went for lunch the next day. The appetizers looked expensive, but they're actually quite reasonable in price once you consider that they easily can be shared between two people. I got the rucola parmigiano, and the salad was big even for two people plus there was a big basket of delicious homemade flatbread not mentioned in the menu description. The pasta arrabbiata had a lovely sauce and chunks of juicy tomatoes - I love it when there is a a good amount of sauce relative to pasta because otherwise it would feel like you're just eating pasta. The only thing I wish was that the arrabbiata was served with penne rigate, but that is a minor detail. I think the restaurant owners are from Puglia, so it would be wonderful to see orecchiette con le cime di rapa topped with the toasted breadcrumbs in the menu. The food was okay, but the staff was very rude to us. We booked a table for 10. We arrived on time at 19:00 and the waiter and the waitress told us, that we can only stay for 2 hours, which they did not say on the phone. When we went to our table, 5 tables were pushed together. We told them that at the end, 2 people won't be joining, so we could make the table smaller. The waitress said okay, took 2 tables away and said that then we don't need to leave in 2 hours. At 20:45 they asked if we wanted dessert, and the waiter forgot to bring us one that we ordered. He was very rude that we reminded him nicely about it. At 21:15 he talked to us very rudely that why are we still there, we should've left already. We told him that his colleague told us we can stay longer, as now the table is smaller, and the other family is already dining. And he kept calling us a liar.
