POZ" Châtelain — Restaurant in Saint-Gilles - Sint-Gillis

We showed up at 1 pm, while it was raining. There was a group of 4 people and a couple in front of us. We waited an hour and a half before we realised that there were places inside that were empty. We asked the staff why they weren't giving the people in front of us these tables. They said that they place people from the front of the line before anyone else. Because no table of 4 was available, everyone behind had to wait. After having the two groups in front of us finally placed, we walk into the restaurant. The server gave us an option between high chairs and comfortable chairs. The second option was way better. However, after getting seated at the table, the server comes back 2 seconds after to tell us that we have to move to the other table because the people that were behind us in the queue were 3 and the table we chose is the only place where three people can sit.

In terms of the food, the pancakes were delicious. The brunch menu was 24€ and worth it. The pancakes are quite filling. The coffee, orange juice and pastries were really good.

If you go here be aware of the queue and the rule of the first person in line gets to sit first. And you can't reserve for brunch. Hope this...

This restaurant looks great on reviews but appears to be woefully understaffed -

We spent 20 mins queueing outside on a Saturday morning and no staff came out at any point to give any indication of how long the wait will be or to put us on a waiting list. We also saw groups leaving the queue after waiting (presumably quite long) themselves.

Meantime, 5-6 diff groups of people kept entering to join an existing table, so it appears well-known that there are long queues for Poz - and first have someone to get a table while waiting for others to come, holding on to the table longer than would normally be the case, which in turn worsens the queueing issue. It may thus be good if the restaurant only seats customers at the table when everyone's present.

This is greatly contrasted with our previous experience at other places like Pop's Pancake where the staff provided menus and told us it will be a long wait once we joined the queue.
