Unfortunately we had a terrible experience there. First of all, I don't live in Belgium and I don't speak french (or arabic, as the restaurant is owned by an arab). I was there in Brussels to visit the city and few friends. Apparently not one staff of that restaurant could speak english and was also not so nice with us from the beginning. We were hungry and ordered food anyway by showing in the menu card. The food wasn't up to the mark. My sandwich wrap was burnt! Unfortunately I did not take a picture that time, as I didn't know, that I'll be writing this review. After we were finished with our meal, we wanted to pay. The guy, I think he is the owner, replied in french the amount. I didn't understand and asked him to rather show me the bill. All hell broke down after that. He started yelling at me. What I could comprehend with his sign language, that he was saying, you either speak french or arabic here. No english in Belgium or something like that. I tried to explain that I don't live there and I speak either english or german. He was not having it. He kept on yelling in french-arabic mixture. At one point he showed the amount from his mobile phone thankfully; i paid instantly and left! Never will I ever go near that place. It's a warning for anyone and everyone who doesn't speak french or arabic, and may experience similar behavior. I had a great time in Belgium meeting many wonderful friendly people. I guess I will have to shrug this one-time unpleasant incident off. One thing I must say, apart from that one guy, other staffs were somewhat ok...
Read moreThe restaurant was uncomfortably cold, which took away from enjoying the food. The food arrived (1/2 kilo meat and chicken skewers) plus humus plus falafel plus tea and salad. The hummus was quite watered down, almost like syrup and easy to fall on your shirt. Then comes the truly unpleasant Arabic culture part where you ask for bill, but you are only given one big round number 65 EURO which is a scam and is €20 too much. I challenged the number but they were firm without any explanation or offering to provide an itemized bill. My family was with me and I decided to not argue, simply because I know the culture and these were Syrian not Lebanese, so they were lying about lebanese cuisine, let alone the culture of if you are down you get kicked harder and you are screwed. When you factor in the final cash only price, it becomes way...
Read moreThis meat place is top-notch. The quality of the meat is exceptional and they offer a wide variety of options. I love eating the rice with the meat, and the hummus is divine with bread. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful, and the mint tea is prepared with care to sooth the customer. The fatayer au fromage is out of this world. The staff is incredibly friendly and their service is noble. To top it off, the dessert is soul-cleansing. I highly recommend this place. I always bring as many friends as possible. I hope they succeed greatly in their...
