Au Zawtar — Restaurant in Waterloo

I don't understand the 5*. The food is good but not exceptional. It's expensive for the small portion they give. Service was very slow when we went and we were starving. Would have been nice to have been given bread, or nuts like they do in Lebanon while you're waiting for the food. The young man (son of the owner we think) waiting on tables is arrogant and acts like he's doing you a favour by letting you eat there! But the other waiters...

The restaurant is lovely and confortable, the staff lovely and helpful. The food. The food was some of the best I ever ate in my life. I had never eaten Lebanese before so I ask what they suggested and had the time of my life. Everything was seasoned to perfection, there was taste and spice but warm and lovely. Would 100% recommend and go again....

Magnifique découverte. Ayant prévu d’aller au cinéma à Waterloo. Nous nous sommes, ma compagne et moi, mis en quête d’un restaurant et nous sommes rentrés au Zawtar un peu par hasard.

L’accueil y était chaleureux et bienveillant.

Amateurs de cuisine libanaise, nous nous sommes laissés guidés par le responsable de salle et avons choisi le menu dégustation. Plein de petits plats à déguster ont été disposés sur la table. Tout était frais, savoureux et fait maison. Une mention particulière pour le falafel servi en entrée, c’est probablement le meilleur falafel que j’ai mangé en Belgique. Aérien, léger et subtilement épicé.

L’endroit est cosi et calme et on n’est pas obligé d’élever la voix pour se faire entendre. C’est suffisamment rare et appréciable de nos jours.

À refaire 😊 On reviendra sans hésitation.
