Please inform your clients before selling them things that prices differ for dine in and take away! or act with commercial finesse.
I went there during midday to grab a coffee and some bread. I sat down with my coffee in the big room, before the man (who I assume the manager) asked me to leave or to pay the surplus for consuming 'sur place' 15 minutes later. This gesture lacks commercial tact. He almost chased me out of the place. I spent 18 euros and for the maybe one euro surplus that I did not pay that time, I was asked to leave (or pay).
Moreover, before this man came in, his colleague came to see me where I sat and informed me about the different prices, for the next time and I said, no problem for the future. He didn't asked me to leave then. If they asked me for money from the beginning or leave, I would have paid but no need to harass clients who try to enjoy their coffee break.

Je souhaite partager mon expĂ©rience suite Ă un passage aujourdâhui au Pain Quotidien Ă Waterloo, dans lâespoir que cela puisse ĂȘtre pris en compte par la direction.
Jâai commandĂ© le toast avocat avec supplĂ©ment saumon fumĂ© (13,95 ⏠+ 4,75 âŹ). Malheureusement, jâai Ă©tĂ© trĂšs déçu par ce que jâai reçu : une assiette peu soignĂ©e, sans vĂ©ritable effort de prĂ©sentation, et surtout, avec une quantitĂ© de saumon extrĂȘmement limitĂ©e. Sur les quatre toasts servis, on ne retrouvait que de minces morceaux, presque anecdotiques, alors que lâavocat, lui, Ă©tait prĂ©sent en abondance.
IntriguĂ©, jâai demandĂ© Ă la serveuse si cette portion lui semblait normale. Elle est allĂ©e se renseigner en cuisine et est revenue mâinformer que oui, les quantitĂ©s Ă©taient correctes. Cela mâa dâautant plus surpris.
Ce qui a renforcĂ© mon sentiment de dĂ©ception, câest la photo prĂ©sente sur la carte : un autre plat (certes diffĂ©rent) mais sur lequel les toasts sont visiblement trĂšs bien garnis en saumon. MĂȘme si ce nâest pas le mĂȘme intitulĂ©, la comparaison visuelle est inĂ©vitable, et en tant que client, on sâattend Ă un certain niveau de cohĂ©rence et de gĂ©nĂ©rositĂ© dans les assiettes proposĂ©es.
Je prĂ©cise que jâai pris une photo de mon plat, non pas pour polĂ©miquer, mais pour illustrer de maniĂšre factuelle le dĂ©calage entre la promesse et la rĂ©alitĂ©.
Ce nâest pas la premiĂšre fois que je ressens une baisse de qualitĂ© lors de mes derniĂšres visites, mais aujourdâhui, câĂ©tait vraiment dĂ©cevant. Jâai Ă©galement lu rĂ©cemment un avis Google dâun autre client qui faisait un constat quasi identique sur une recette diffĂ©rente Ă base de saumon â ce qui semble indiquer une tendance plus large.
Je comprends que le personnel soit en grande partie composĂ© dâĂ©tudiants, ce qui peut expliquer certaines limites. Mais cela ne doit pas empĂȘcher un minimum de contrĂŽle qualitĂ© ni une vraie attention portĂ©e Ă lâexpĂ©rience client.
Je partage cet avis non pas par colĂšre, mais par attachement Ă ce que Le Pain Quotidien a reprĂ©sentĂ© par le passĂ© : une enseigne chaleureuse, soignĂ©e, respectueuse du client et de ses attentes. JâespĂšre sincĂšrement que ce retour sera entendu et quâil permettra une remise en question...

However, when I went to pay, the price was 6.50âŹ, which seemed to be a mistake considering the menu listed it as 6.50âŹ. Not only was this incorrect, but I also found it unreasonable to charge 6.50⏠for such a small tart. Similarly, the hot chocolate was both small in portion size and expensive.
Furthermore, the service provided by the students was lacking in hospitality and professionalism. Vanessa, in particular, seemed inexperienced and unsure of how to interact with customers in a food-serving establishment.
Overall, this was a disappointing and overpriced experience. I have no intention of visiting this restaurant...
