Be Burger Stockel — Restaurant in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre - Sint-Pieters-Woluwe

Mini essay here, but being diplomatic after several inconsistent experiences. We’ve ordered takeout on 5 occassions and had positive experiences. We had to wait and extra 15 minutes once but it did appear to be a rather busy evening so we totally understood. To me it is slightly overpriced for what it is. 15 Euros for a decent burger and then having to still pay extra for sides seems a tad extravagant to a North American, but OK.

Our first in restaurant experience was a month ago. We arrived. We were seated. We were not given menus or asked if we would like to order a drink. We waited 15 minutes and noone came to us. It was not busy. Only 5 other tables had people and we could see at least 2 staff members attending to them. We got up left and none of the staff made any attempt to talk to us as they watched us leave.

Our family decided to give them another chance. This time we waited 10 mins from being seated until we saw menus. Why would it not be the restaurant’s policy to give customers menus as you seat people? There is a reason that every restaurant on the planet does this. Once our server arrived she was very friendly and professional. However, the restaurant appears to lack a system for orders/ degree of cooking. We were not asked how well done we would like our burgers to be cooked. When they arrived mine was nice & still slightly pink in center. My son’s completely rare and still bleeding. We had to swap burger patties so that he would eat his. My suggestion would be either ask guests how well they would like them cooked, or provide a consistent degree of cookedness as your signature. The Fries were tasty & the sauce portion was was suitable.

After the table was cleared we waited another 15 minutes. They didn’t bring the ice cream that was part of my child’s kid’s meal nor did anyone check if we wanted anything else. So we just got up and went to the bar to pay and we left. Based on this we do not plan to return and are unlikely to get takeout again. My recent visit to Be Burger Stockel left a lot to be desired, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment in this Google review.

Upon arrival, my party of four requested an outdoor table. However, the girl at the entrance told us that there were only tables for two available. We suggested combining two tables, which seemed like a reasonable solution, but she hesitated and explained that those tables were being reserved for people looking to have drinks. This, despite the fact that there were plenty of empty tables around. After some persistence, she finally agreed, but her demeanor made it clear that she was not pleased with our request. Frankly, it seemed like she had no interest in accommodating us or even enjoying her job.

Despite this inauspicious start, we decided to stay because it was late in the afternoon, and we were hungry. However, what followed only added to our disappointment. We placed our orders for burgers and waited for what felt like an eternity, well over 45 minutes. Not once did anyone from the staff offer an apology for the delay or offer us a drink to make the wait more bearable. This level of customer service is simply unacceptable.

When our food finally arrived, we were shocked to find that we had no napkins or silverware. We had to awkwardly grab these essentials from neighboring tables. It was an embarrassing situation, and it made us feel like an afterthought.

Our waiter eventually realized that he had forgotten to bring us silverware, but by that point, we were already finished with our meal. This lack of attention to detail and the overall poor service we experienced left a bitter taste in our mouths.

In all honesty, I won't be returning to Be Burger Stockel anytime soon. I strongly urge anyone considering dining here to think twice and explore the many other dining options available in the neighborhood that offer not only better food but also superior service. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! We (me and a child) went there on a Friday evening around 18:00 without reservation... we could not be seated even if only ONE table was occupied, because they were "fully reserved". We have decided to order take out- we have choose the first available time (time offered by their own application - 20 minutes after the order placement). The order was "ready" 30 minute after the confirmed pickup time! While waiting the personnel was telling us - with a very SUPPERIOR attitude - that they cannot handle all the order coming on the same time... REVIEW YOUR APP ThEN!!! And the worst was the quality of the food. The fries were OLD. Made at noon if not one day before. Also the bread of the burger was steamed (that make me think our order was ready before being delivered by a waiter that cannot read names...) The worst staff I have ever seen: arogant, impolite...
