This restaurant is the on-site dining room for the Radisson Fort George hotel. It has a vintage atmosphere: dark polished wood, brass, hardwood floor, and outdoor seating on a veranda that looks out over the sea. There is an extensive beverage and food menu and the prices were quite reasonable. I suggest using the Order Online link in the Google Maps to view the menu as the reviewers' photos are very outdated. We ate dinner here three evenings and would have rated the first two with 4 stars. The last evening was so disappointing, we dropped our rating a star. The first two evenings were a consecutive Wednesday and Thursday. Both times the restaurant was not crowded, the food and drink delicious, and the service slow but adequate. Highlights included the virgin Pina Colada, which my wife said was the best she'd ever had, the Tavern Signature salad, and the cashew-crusted snapper. We returned the following Tuesday evening for our last night in Belize. It was like a different restaurant: it was packed, the service was very slow, and the food mediocre. I had the "Belize Sunday Dinner" (stewed chicken with rice & beans). It was OK, just not as good as every other similar meal we'd had throughout our stay. My wife's "Mayan Garden Salad," however, was truly awful. A plate full of iceberg lettuce topped with a few roasted tomatoes and Kalamata olives, and two asparagus spears that were too tough to chew.

I had dinner here and it was good. Fish fillets, rice, and beans and a few of the best mojitos I've ever had in my life. The portion was big! I asked for a to go box and the server took my plate and boxed it up for me. Got 2 meals out of that dinner. The service was really good as well. The food was $23 BZ or $11.50 USD. I think the mojitos were $6 USD a piece. Definitely recommend.

Our family went for Sunday lunch. We had never been to the Baymens Tavern for lunch so we weren’t sure what to expect. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was pretty good and came pretty quickly. We were pleasantly surprised. There was a specific menu for lunch so if you’re there during the day be sure to ask for that menu.

Terrible service- the bartender handed me a menu when I sat down, and then just turned around with her back to me and ignored me for a while (the place was nearly empty, so not busy at all, and there were 3 ppl working). She spent more time talking to her co-workers than to her customers.

Eventually I asked about happy hour, and was told it’s literally only one day per week! I then had the pulled pork sandwich, which was mediocre, and was served on a hot dog bun. Also, the place smelled really funky- like moldy or something. And they must have changed their menu since the other pics posted on here- many of the options are no longer available.

But the...

We went twice. The first time we waited almost 30 min for our bill. Never saw the server again once she dropped off our food. We went to bar counter and ask for it. It still took awhile even with a couple people working on it. The food was average.

The second time we went at the end of our vacation it was also terrible service. We waited 45 minutes for just a drink. My partner's drink was a mojito. It tasted like straight soda water and had some finely chopped mint that was not fresh. I would definitely not recommend the pub at the Radisson Hotel.

The restaurant however was excellent. Good food and friendly staff. We had the breakfast buffet...
